My favorite announcing crew. Relaxed, understated, knowledgeable, good banter and insights, and sometimes very funny. Fell off a bit when Sutton replace Sterling. He didn't quite fit in---I sensed he was a little uptight. When we got cable in 1981 it was a thrill to discover we could watch baseball nearly every day. We naturally became Braves fans and enjoyed some memorable games and broadcasts over the years. An essential part of my 80s for sure.

Sutton fit in a lot better than Sterling (though he's good), Billy Sample, Bob Gibson, Darrel Chaney or anyone else they tried to make the fourth man in the team. Joe Simpson also seemed to fit in seamlessly when he came on board.

Probably more Braves than Dodgers fan watched this one. This was the same day the Lakers won the NBA title at Boston, finally ending the Celtic jinx

49:47... Bob Horner never played in the Minor Leagues. He was drafted out of Arizona State University in 1978, and went directly to the Braves.

I just finished watching the game played one year earlier to the day between the same two teams, but that time in Los Angeles. Valenzuela pitched that day too. Scully and Garagiola on that call. Sometimes KZbin can spoil you rotten -- now Johnson and Caray. Not bad at all.

yep we had it too in Orange County, along with WWOR-TV for Mets games. And I think WGN for cubbies.

What's there to block out? This is a taped game from 1985. If anyone has a problem with it... then don't watch.

Would you happen to have any late 80's SF Giants games? Specifically, GiantsVision broadcasts?

Skip Caray seemed so old when I was a kid. Looking back, I bet he was quite the ladies man with those shades and the voice.

I think most guys who are on television regularly could be ladies men if they wanted to. A lot of women chase fame.
