Again I ask, Why are umps allowed to put their hands on managers, coaches, players??
@nateward95925 жыл бұрын
L T As officials in any sport, it’s our job to make sure things don’t escalate further then they have (I’m a football referee). We are blocking them from moving forward wether it be towards one of our fellow officials, another player, or rare occasion another coach. A good majority of the time, if someone is putting there hands on us it’s to poke us in the chest, slap a hand/arm down or shove us cause they don’t agree with something. That’s not a preventative measure, that’s just disrespecting us as the officials on the field. There’s your difference. We touch to prevent, they don’t. That’s why we are allowed to make contact. Now, it’s not always an issue. A lot of times I’ll have coaches or players lean in on my shoulder to make a comment or observation, that’s fine. We have no problem with that, when it’s a calm, rationale talk and a simple lean in on the shoulder or pat on the back. Nothing wrong with those. It’s only when it’s out of anger and disagreement will you see us eject or penalize for making contact with us.

17:06 if the pitcher fails to declare prior to the at bat that he will execute the wind up then it shall be deemed a balk. This is most common in R3 only situations.

Matt Carpenter had one of the best eyes in the game but tried to take to many pitches that got him in trouble.
