And everyone said the 5 day lay off was a disadvantage to the top seeds. That is not an excuse. Both the Astros and Yankees got the job done in the ALDS. The NLDS top seeded teams (Braves and Dodgers) simply got beaten. October baseball has always been filled with upsets.

rest is a major factor but i totally agree with all of this. yes, rest does induce a lot of rust compared to teams coming in with momentum from the wild card series, but you still get beat. go yanks

Totally agree. Never heard Yankee stadium so “quiet”. The audio on Gonzalez’s walk off single was absolutely abysmal. ALCS was even worse. Minute Maid was gonna explode when McCormick homered in Game 1 yet the crowd audio sounded like a game in August. Can’t stand that about TBS. Love Brian Anderson though.

Feel like the Guardians kinda overthought it in the end. I would've held Quantrill back to pitch in game 5 and punted game 4 against cole, thereby giving the guardians a better shot in the decider. Same mistake the mets made pitching degrom agaisnt fried last month when they should have held him back to pitch against morton. You only need one. All things considered tho, gotta be proud of this team, and good luck to the Yanks against Houston!

didn't even think of this. was a very good option esp with bieber off the table for a second start. terry managed phenomenally all series up until game 4 and 5. game 4 he wasted his challenges and then game 5 didnt challenge a play in which the runner was safe (gimenez on rizzo diving play).

@@paduls Agreed, esp. on the gimenez play. If it were a random game in july, I'd get the non-challenge. Two outs, no one on, bottom of the order coming up. If you take the shot and miss, you lose your challenge. But it's a winner-take-all game, you gotta go for it any chance you get
