An umpire can ask his fellow umpires for help on an appealed call, but does not have to. No umpires can give their input on a call unless they're asked to. 2. If the call is overturned, the umpire(s) determine, to the best of their ability, how the play would've gone if the "correct" call was made to begin with. 3. As an umpire for the last 7 years I hate what MLB umpires are doing for the rest of us. Most umpires especially for young kids are good, but the MLB umps are soo bad and do bad things. I have been in situations where I should have ejected someone but didn't. They need to realize that sometimes the managers come out to "argue" just to show that they are supporting and backing up their players. They need to stop taking things so personally. The way they react makes people dislike umpires more and more, I personally get harassed by parents, players, and coaches all the time and some of them use MLB umps and what they do and how those managers react as an excuse for how horrible they are to me and my coworkers.

Seeing Joe Girardi in one of the clips brought back the memory of the death of St. Louis pitcher, Darryl Kile, in 2002. Kile was supposed to pitch a game against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley, but while Cards are warming up on the field, nobody can find or get in touch with Darryl. Finally, the Cards' send somebody back to the hotel to see if Darryl can be located. Darryl Kile is found dead in his hotel room bed. I believe the cause of his death was a heart attack. The game that day between the Cubs and Cardinals ended up being postponed. Joe Girardi was playing for the Cubs at the time, and he is the one who made the announcement to the crowd at Wrigley that, "because of a death in the Cardinals family", the game would be postponed that day. I was not at the ballpark, but I swear it got so quiet there that you probably could have heard a ball drop lightly on the infield grass. Because not everybody in Darryl Kile's family had been found/notified yet, it wasn't Girardi's place to say who had died. Everybody left Wrigley that day in stunned silence, trying to figure out who/what Girardi was talking about. If I remember right, Girardi said that more details would be forthcoming in a matter of hours. I believe Darryl Kile was 33 years young. Rest in peace.
