Meltstallz The Mets were in the middle of this incredible run to the postseason where they went 27-13 in their last forty games. In this game they had been down two in the bottom of the ninth before a game-tying home run sent the game to extra innings. Finally, the bat flip on the walk-off home run.

Yes, he did have drugs in his system. But he wasn't driving the boat. The idiot who was, crashed it into a jetty. Was it stupid of all of them? Yes. But at least Jose wasn't the one at fault for all three deaths. It's much better than all the dick riding Ryan Dunn got, even though he WAS the one who drove drunk and got himself along with a friend killed. Did anyone give a shit about the friend? Nope, the idiot who drove drunk, got himself and another person killed, gets a TV tribute made.

The Cubs had many that could go down as the biggest: Javy's game winner in game 1 against SF, Montero's GS against the Dodgers, Bryant's solo shot to tie the game in game 5 against CLE (huge for momentum), Fowler's leadoff homer in game 7, and even Ross's homer in game 7. I agree they chose the wrong one here, but with so many to choose from, someone was going to disagree with the Cubs one no matter what.
@damonwatt44207 жыл бұрын
Russels grand slam was irrelevant. They would've won that game anyway. Monteros was better
@DASCO21367 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about the homer being irrelevant. That grand slam guaranteed there would be a game 7 and changed the whole way that game was managed by both sides. 3 runs is a good lead but in game 7, Cubs had a 4 run lead at one point and it disappeared. Indians did score 2 runs, so in a 3-2 ball game, its a lot different than a 7-2 ball game, especially when your playing for all the marbles
@DASCO21367 жыл бұрын
The winning run was already on base at the time that it happened. As for the decision itself, look at it from a managers point of view: Who would you rather face with a runner on second and the World Series on the line: Ken Griffey Jr or Omar Vizquel?
@katelyndykes51177 жыл бұрын
Damon watt I agree. Or Baez against the I think the Dodgers. I can't remember who it was against but he had a good one too.

The Yankees one was amazing. I'm not sure you can get more poetic than the last home run of Teixeira's career being a walk-off grand slam against the Red Sox, a home run that demoralized the Sox and saw them only win one game after that before getting swept in the postseason. In that one singular moment, the pain of Hanley Ramirez's walk off earlier that month was erased. I didn't care about it anymore, and I don't think anyone else did either. That home run by Tex had me in tears. 2016 was a year full of surprises, and that was the biggest of them all. Proof that you don't have to make the postseason to make memories that will last a lifetime.

I see a lot of Indians blowing saves. They need to put someone else at closer instead of Allen lol
@ryanaltfillisch71557 жыл бұрын
The Indians were the pitching team 4 times, but only 2 of them were blown saves and only one of those 2 were blown by Allen. Allen did lose one of the others with a walkoff, but it wasn't a blown save. I'm no Indian fan, but Allen's a solid closer as he only blew 3 saves last year to go along with his 32 saves. Good try though.

Allen doesn't do well in non-save situations. Otherwise he's pretty solid.

george holst to be honest, we had six walk off winners. Also, I say that Robbie's home run to take the lead in extras vs the Astros was the most important home run of the season. It's the game that gave them hope, since they won after a blown save. They split the next two and ultimately got us into the situation that allowed game 161 to have meaning.

GoHooks 22 yeah but then again the dodgers were struggling big time against shuerzer and needed a break through soon, peterson's homer was crucial because it took max shuerzer out of the game which gave the dodgers a huge opportunity to score in the late innings of an elimination game
@clovio22197 жыл бұрын
WOLFGABE but if Culberson didn't hit that homer then Dodgers wouldn't of even been in it
@wolfgabe89257 жыл бұрын
GoHooks 22 yes they would've, if he didn't hit the homer the Dodgers might've won it in extras anyway or they would've just won it in San Diego cuz that was there last regular season win
@thedugoutdiscussion27997 жыл бұрын
Mariners one is debatable. Cruzs game tying homer in the 7th inning of game 161 was definitely the most important of their season, not one of Adam lind's walk offs.
@thedugoutdiscussion27997 жыл бұрын
Twymanator Cruz hit a game tying homer in the 7th inning of game 161 against the A's. if Cruz hadn't hit that homer then the game would not have been tied and the Mariners would get eliminated. That single homer led to the Mariners tying the game up multiple more times before, yes, they were eventually eliminated. Also, leonys Martin hit two walk offs similar to Lind, so putting Lind in but not Martin or Cruz was bad judgment and a bad call

I don't agree for the Cubs at all. For Addison Russell's grand slam in the 6th game it 1.) the cubs were already winning 2.) only 1 out with bases loaded. They shouldve picked Meguell Monteros game 1, 2 out grandslam that made the cubs take the lead or Dexter Fowlers game 7 lead off homerun.
