Really interesting compilation, but I wish we got more before and especially after, to know the context and fallout, and hear the commentators. On several of these, the commentators started explaining what happened and we cut off mid sentence. On some of these I really don't know what happened.

The worst example: Steve Lyons. He's dropping his pants. Why? They then show him starting to run to first, then cut to the next video before he gets there. For those who don't know, Lyons dropped a bunt, ran full bore to first and slid head first. He was safe, called time, got up, realized he got dirt down his pants on the slide, and pulled them down to wipe the dirt out.

You got two videos of Elvis Andrus one with him swinging at a high pitch above his head and another of him swinging at a pitch out, those were to protect the runner swings. Him fouling off the pitch saved the runner from being caught up and the shit swing on the pitch out caused the catcher to throw the ball all the way in the outfield no where near second base. It looks dumb and boneheaded but they were straight up successful moves.

@robstyles85354 жыл бұрын
Litch 01 on an infield fly runners can advance at their own risk. The batter is automatically out. That removes the force play at the bag and you have to tag the runners not just step on the base.

4:53 Does that billboard behind the batter say GIANT ASS?
@WhirligigStudios5 жыл бұрын
6:23 Does this even matter that much? There are two outs, and he's not the tying run, so the only problem with him moving up a base is that you can't get a force play at second, which is relatively inconsequential.

Those times where the batter is swinging at pitches 10 feet off the plate, that’s called a hit and run. I learned the hard way that you better swing at the pitch no matter where it is on a hit and run. Just put the ball in play to move that runner in front of you
