I’d say Game 4 of the 2012 World Series is a forgotten classic. Yeah it was a series sweep, but game 4 was genuinely a good game and it went into extra innings. Just a suggestion.

This was literally the perfect roster construction, and all these guys going on to sign big contracts makes you respect their development, although it would've been cool if some of them besides salvy stayed in KC.

My Mets were well on their way to winning this series 4-1 but instead the bullpen and defense died in games 1, 4 and 5 and they ended up losing by the same margin. But for real the Royals were amazing that postseason. Especially coming back vs Houston in the ALDS.

Loved this vid as royals fan. Good to see all the boys together again. All of those dudes were apart of my childhood and i think this series is what made me truly love baseball. We always sucked growing up with billy butler, but then this happened. It sucked to see everyone go to different teams besides gordo and salvy.

My husband and I were at this game. KC fans. Last minute outfield tickets (beneath Fox broadcast booth) that cost us a boatload of $$. Best spent $$ ever. What a night. Cold & damp. Game ended around 1 am. Got home to central KS about 4 am. Still have video of game winning hit on my phone.

I'd like to recommend Game 3 of the 2012 NLDS between the Giants and Reds. The Giants are already down 2 - 0 in the series. The Reds could of totally won this game and this series, but the Reds made some mistakes. First, Brandon Phillips made a baserunning mistake in the 1st inning, and the Reds were only able to get one run. Then, in the 10th inning with the game tied 1-1, 2 singles, a wild pitch, and a bobbled ball, led the Giants to another run, giving them the lead. The Giants won the game in 10 innings with only 3 hits. One from Marco Scutaro who broke Homer Bailey's no-hitter in the 6th inning, and the other two hits didn't happen until in the 10th inning. This was a huge win, as the Giants won the next two elimination games to win the NLDS, and went on to win the World Series.

This is probably the most underrated World Series of the 21st century so far. It was an absolute classic, but everyone just remembers it as the one that the Cubs were supposed to win. Smh

World Series starting pitcher's father dies a couple hours before the start He doesn't even know his father is dead but everyone in the stadium already knows First pitch the home team sees is an inside the park home run Broadcast goes out for a while because the power goes out but the game keeps getting played Four lead Changes spread throughout all 14 innings Game was 14 innings and lasted five hours and 9 minutes, at the time was tied for the longest World Series game of all time Alex Gordon, the number 8 hitter, ties the game on a straight to center home run off one of the best closers who hadn't given up a run since July. This is, dare I say, the best and most overlooked and epic world series game of all time.

So for those who don’t know: during this game there was a technically issue with FOX’s broadcast which resulted in the connection being lost. As a result they had to use the MLB International feed for the US broadcast for a short time while they tried to fix it. That’s why you hear Matty V & John Smoltz commentating for a few innings.

Well I think it would have been Johnny Cueto and Marcus Stroman on the mound for Game 7; with all hands on deck. But that offense was 0-for-15 with runners in scoring position. If you're a Jays fan you know how effective they are with RISP its like a black hole sucks in all the batting average numbers.
