When Jeter got a standing ovation at Fenway, When mortal enemies clapped and cheered for one of the best shortstops of all time, the ultimate respect, I love this sport.

I'm a Met fan, and I hate the Yankees to the core of my being. But, Derek Jeter was always a hard player to dislike even a little bit.

Baseball players are the classiest of the bunch. I guess it comes from being an America staple, the fans and athletes alike are so incredibly appreciative and respectful. Love it!

I wish that was true for all fans. Last game I went to there was an eight year old heckler behind me screaming the whole game. Disgraceful.

Great baseball players who not only tried hard to give everything they can contribute but took the all expectations on their shoulders, deserved ovation like that.

Watching this only makes me emotional, as a native St. Louisan who is flying home in August to see one final Cards game where HOPEFULLY, Pujols is DH'ing. After that, I will never see his name in a STL uniform again. He will have his #5 retired alongside Yadier's #4 and maybe even Waino's #50

I am a lifelong Orioles fan. I always remember when the O's played the Yankees and Rivera would come in. It was like "well, this game's over." :) That guy was a beast!

All opposing players were so happy and glad to applaud Mariano Rivera's last walk out of the pen because they knew they would never be struck out by him again. So they were like THANK YOU JESUS FOR RIVERA RETIRING. LOL !!!!

It was great that Derek Jeter got a huge ovation from Red Sox fans despite being a New York Yankees player. Yes the rivalry between the Yankees and the Red Sox can be very spicy but those Red Sox fans cant help but cheer Jeter.

There's two things that are true about the guys that get standing ovations from everyone present - whether teammate/fan or opposition player/opposing fan. They are great players, and they have good attitudes, which is why they are universally respected. You don't see many whiners in these groups. (There is no way I would be standing or applauding a Harper, Bautista, Machado, Sale, or a long list of others)

The incredible part on this video was that when they took out Jeter and he is busy hugging his American League teammates the opposing team did not continue pitching until he came back out for a curtain call. That is the ultimate sign of RE2PECT.

I never ever comment on KZbin videos but I had to with this one. You are missing the Paul O'Neill standing O that the Yankees fan gave him during his last inning in the field at Yankee stadium during the 2001 world series. You have to edit that into this video.
