I watched Ortiz’s last game in my college dorm room and practically sobbed when it ended. Seeing my childhood hero walk away like that after being swept was devastating. Last clip definitely got me teary eyed. Gonna miss you papi

Felt the same way seeing CC go out the way he did vs HOU. God, I wanted him to get just one more.

My favorite was the one Eric Young got in Denver in September 1997. He had been traded to the Dodgers in August, but was still beloved by Rockies fans (hitting a home run in the first Rockies home at-bat EVER will do that for you). The ovation started when he walked out for his first at-bat, and didn't stop until he finally stepped away from the batter's box and tipped his helmet to the fans in all directions.

lol I was doing security at the Stadium that week. I still found a way to fill a scorecard that game. It was the most civil Yankee Stadium crowd I had witnessed. It didn't matter they were behind 4-0 in the game. The crowd got what it needed. Not a Yankee fan but that was fun.

Not even a clip of the 25 minute ovation Cal Ripken Jr. got after breaking Gehrig's record?

How many victory laps in the middle of the 5th have there ever been? There are like 35ish playrs with 3,000 hits, but there's only 1 with 8's record.

@PeterOkeefe545 жыл бұрын
even on his 3,000 hit jeter is out of the box like a jackrabbit in comparison to most of todays players (yankees)who watch and wait and sometimes are thrown out at second never playing for the team just for themselves..most especially Sanchez who is the laziest ballplayer I have ever seen.
