Tom thinking "He better not have been a better dad to her" makes me think "Yeah, he is." I have watched both of the anime. Eri was loved and consistently protected by Dadzawa and 1a while Marinette is constantly going through large amounts of pain and suffering and Tom doesn't really do anything.
