softball players generally have faster reaction time. only milliseconds though, and just from hitting a 60 mph pitch

That clip at 1:47 on Dusty Baker’s son or grandson shouldn’t be on the field at that age. I remembered watching the game on tv & was a pretty scary 😦 moment. JT Snow grabbed the kid on time. Probably Snow’s best moment for being a hero on the field.

that’s dusty’s son and after that happened they changed the rules so now bat boys / girls have to be at least 14 years old...i was at that game and dusty knew he was going to be in trouble for that one.

The pitchers catching or fielding these balls smoked up the middle is so impressive. The speed at which even groundballs to deep in field travels is crazy fast, so being able to react to an even shorter distance is amazing.

That play has always really pissed me off. What the heck was that little kid doing there in the first place? It’s borderline child endangerment. I know he’s the manager’s son, but an MLB dugout and field is no place for a kid that young.

@@vinnygi he was their bat boy at the time. MLB changed the rule so bat boys had to be at least 14 after this happened. Also Darren’s in his senior year at Cal now. Yeah, we gettin’ old.

I was pitching in high school against one of the biggest guys in the league and he smacked a line drive right at my face, luckily I put my glove up and caught the ball instead of my face but it broke my hand and the glove flew off with the ball still in it.
