MLB The Show 23 Beginner Tips To Get Wins ASAP
MLB The Show 23 is a baseball video game by San Diego Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, based on Major League Baseball (MLB). It is available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The eighteenth entry of the MLB: The Show franchise, it was released on March 28, 2023. Miami Marlins player Jazz Chisholm Jr. is featured as the cover star, while The Captain Edition of the game features retired New York Yankees player Derek Jeter.[1][2]
For the third consecutive year, the Xbox versions of the game are available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no additional cost.[3]
Gameplay
The game includes a new game mode, named Storylines: A New Game Experience. This mode is set to focus on the Negro Leagues. The mode will feature eight players who played in the Negro Leagues, including Jackie Robinson, Buck O'Neil, Satchel Paige, Rube Foster, and more. The mode is a mix of gameplay and narration by Negro Leagues Baseball Museum president Bob Kendrick, highlighting moments from that player's career. For every new launch of MLB The Show, there would be a new season, featuring different players who also played in the Negro Leagues. These players would also become regular players in the other modes of the game.[4][5]
Other changes included Core Seasons in Diamond Dynasty, which would allow for 99 overall players to be obtained from day one, which take place every 6-8 weeks. For every new Core Season, only the players featured on that and the previous season can be used in Ranked and Conquest. This, however, wont affect other game modes in Diamond Dynasty such as Play vs CPU. Another new addition is Captain Cards, in which once a certain tier requirement is met for that Captain Card player, it would boost your team significantly. Proper two-way play was also implemented in this release; this makes it possible for players such as Shohei Ohtani to be used as both a starting pitcher and as a true designated hitter

Hey man, good tutorial. My son just got it in trying to play in the exhibition mode and there’s a big dot above the picture doing all kind of weird things lol and yellow bar for the batter. How do I get those off of the screen? Like to were all you see is pitch/ batter and white box?

Read glowing reviews of MLB 23 although as someone who lives in the UK I don't actually follow baseball and last game I played was The Bigs 2, which was amazing. Great video, going to give it go tonight although I fear this game is going to be a lot more complex than anticipated!

Hello just stumbled to this video since I just got the game mlb 23 yesterday! One thing I am struggling with is sometimes when I base run my character keeps advancing when I tell it to return and I don’t know if that’s just because I need more plate discipline or something.

Nice job what if your 60 years old vet with right hand issues and not goot at moving the pci whats more easier zone no pci? Timming? Or directional enjoy life mate retired American living is the Philippines

Directional. I like to pull if it's opposite hand pitcher (as they'll likely pitch you inside) , I like to push if it's same hand pitcher (most of the time they'll throw sliders low and outside so you have a good shot at going opposite field with it). Also you can aim to pull up if you have a high power guy with good contact for more chance at a home run. I can't hit with PCI at all. I just turned 30 and I just can't. I have a really good eye but I struggle to get the PCI where it needs to be. With directional, I at least can get some hits if my timing is good. It's the only option for those of us who just suck with PCI.

@@steveandrew408 Yeah you're timing is still good but the RNG of the PCI placement on directional will lead to that. Not guaranteed a square up. I find it's more consistent for me than just timing though. I also found that trying to go opposite field results in more consistent solid contact than trying to pull it. It can still pull if you're early but it's more likely to be to center or pushed with good contact. More lineouts but more solid contact that way from what I've noticed.

@@_gr1nchh ah ok I don't push side to side I just pull back and prey for the best I do use PCI from time to time like in mimi seasons just to try or improve but us old guys can't do like team affinity because I can't get pass the 8th set out of 15 way to confusing who to put in my line up in mini I don't watch baseball I couldn't tell you what division is what I live in the Philippines they barely play NBA here and at 7am I'm not in the mood hard to drink beer at 7am and people not calling you an alcoholic lol

Under the control tab in gameplay settings tab if you scroll down you'll see pci center inner and outer change inner to bat if you only want the bat turn the rest to none or if you want to see the inner pci choose whatever type you may like or leave it off

If no one has answered yet, when the pitch gets to the catcher, hold the button of the base you want to throw to, make sure you time it right!

Hey i just got the game and its my first mlb game ever i am hooked like crack i want to know everyones dirty secrets or tips not general stuff but specific to you everyone has their own ace up their sleeve in this game or so it seems. Like i played one guy who was bad at pitching and batting but the guy was a master at stealing bases which i can pick people off easy usually doesnt ever work but that one guy had me yelling at my tv bro it was nasty. Ive played guys who were total ass at batting but pitching they were nasty they would throw it in the line which would count as a strike for me but i do the same as pitcher its a ball wtf i dont understand i mean is there some secret to it? Inside the box no swing strike outside the box no swing ball but if i even touch the line its a ball they do it its a strike and I'm not swinging . I figure thats one of the dirty secrets theres a way to pull it off but it seems so subtle like i thought the game developers had a grudge against me

What's PCI? I think I need a even more "Beginners" guide. Also why are you using complicated batting controls like that instead of just setting it to buttons so that you don't even have to aim your bat or anything. Same with pitching. Why purposely make the game harder?

this game is ridiculous playing franchise mode. The cpu strikes out 15 times a game no matter what settings or sliders i use they just stand taking 3 strikes looking i tried usuing the exact settings from 22
