You would not want to add rookies to your 40 man unless you want them to play. They CANNOT take them in the rule 5 draft. If they are younger than 19, you have 5 years to add them. 19 and older, you have 4 years

I’ve been playing franchise for years so I didn’t need this tutorial but I always find it interesting to watch how other people build their organizations. It’s so funny to me cuz so much of what you did, I’d never do in my organizations😂 just goes to show there’s so many different ways to build winners in The Show and it’s so cool that the game allows your GM styles to be so personalized. Your way of scouting, free agency, team control, arbitration, even minor league management are so different from me yet there’s no wrong way as long as it works💪🏻

That's true! There are definitely multiple ways to build a team...in any sport! I was moreso trying to show what arbitration and renewable contracts are because a lot of people have ZERO clue.

Curious what settings you play on for hitting and pitching difficulty? I love franchise but can’t seem to find the balance between the players ratings and my own skill

I put the difficulty on dynamic so the difficulty shifts with how you're playing. Currently the game has me on All-Star+ hitting and Legend+ pitching with the meter maxed out (so basically I can't have it on a harder pitching setting than I do). There is also a slider that you can mess with to control how fast the dynamic difficulty shifts. I have it a couple ticks up so it shifts a bit quicker during games. I feel it does a nice job simulating the hot and cold nature of the game. You get streaky and hit well for a bit and then go cold as you should.

Question- how do you handle restocking your minor league system after free agency? In other words if you notice you only have a couple spots in some positions, do you just set free agency to auto and let it fill it for you?

I sign everyone myself. Since I was mainly showing the contract system and how it worked I wasnt worried about the details of how many I had. I would pay more attention if I were.

I see when u drafted u picked players with pretty low overall. Does the overall matter or not? And if it does then from what number to what number is pretty good to great?

Depends. There are 2 ways of thinking. Go for high overalls and not care about potential or go for potential and be willing to wait for low overall guys to grow. The way the draft is this year, I try to get impact players early with higher overalls 66-70+ with good potential 80+. Then in the late rounds it's usually guys you haven't scouted so I try to hit on high potentials that can be good in the future

One slight issue I have with your drafting method… You’re not factoring in the players age. A 22 year old with B potential but a terrible overall is likely to be a 26-27 year old rookie and at best going to play 4-5 years at the big league level even if they develop to that potential.

It's a fair point but I don't think that's an "issue" at all with my drafting method. I'd rather have a guy who has the potential to one day be a very good-great player than a guy who might crack my lineup for a year and fade out. I always go for the B and A guys. But that's the great thing about the drafting in this game, there are many philosophies.

Why did you offer 15 year contacts to players you didn't want to re-sign? What's the difference between doing that and not just offering them a contract period?

If you don't offer they hit free agency. They need to be offered something for you to have the rights to renew. I offer 15 years because as I believe I said in the video...if they want to be locked up for life, cool. If you think I "didn't want to resign them" then you didn't pay attention. I wanted them just not for the millions they wanted. When they are renewable contracts you can get them for 80% of what they made the year before...a paycut. As a budget team, you do that.

Best you can do is win I guess. I'm not sure it's meant for you to increase the budget for scouting though. Haven't got that deep in a franchise. However, you can get more in your player budget by winning so maybe that works for scouting too. Otherwise I'd say it isn't possible

You can make a custom team but it takes over for a team currently in the league. You cannot take the league to 36 and there is no true expansion with an expansion draft keeping all original teams. That's NBA 2K that does that.

From the roster screen...click on them...hit release player. I don't recommend this because baseball contracts are guaranteed. You owe the player that money anyway. The only way he gets off the books is by trading him or letting his contract expire.

Can anyone explain what I did wrong in my franchise? I got through free agency, set my 40 man roster, and got past the rule 5 draft. Simmed to spring training and all the sudden half my roster from MLB down to A was gone. Not sure what happened.

You didn't renew contracts or do your arbitration then. The offseason is not simply free agent and sim to the new season like NFL, NBA or NHL. You have to take care of your renewable contracts and arbitration deals. I legit explain it in this video.

I'm not going to buy this game. First time I've skipped buying the show. A longstanding issue with franchise mode is pitcher stamina never increases despite what the scouting report says and the result is pitchers whose stamina declines to the point where they can't last 5 innings. All the changes to scouting and they still haven't fixed this issue. Add to that lack of y2y saves and I'll skip this year and keep my current show22 franchise.

I do wish they would put some more TLC into details but I guess it's a damned if you do damned if you don't. They didn't add ANYTHING from 21 to 22 and now they do add something and you complain. Actually they aren't the same draft classes. There are generational players that I've seen come out as 80 overalls with 99 potential.

@@FranchiseGaming When you sim ahead in the game it pitcher stamina increasing? The problem for years has been it never increases and it limits the pitchers you can draft.
