Reminds me somehow of Grishams Book "Touchdown". About a fallen NFL QB who starts to play in Italy and falls in love with the italian culture. Every time i see US sports in Italy, this story comes to my mind.

There are tournaments where European teams from different countries play each other. Kind of like the Champions league for soccer (football). There’s also some leagues that have teams from multiple countries.
