About MLB.com:
Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball's internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live, full length MLB game when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com features a stable of club beat reporters and award-winning national columnists, the largest contingent of baseball reporters under one roof, who deliver over 100 original articles every day. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games.
Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues. The American League, originally founded in 1901, consists of the following teams: Baltimore Orioles; Boston Red Sox; Chicago White Sox; Cleveland Indians; Detroit Tigers; Houston Astros; Kansas City Royals; Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; Minnesota Twins; New York Yankees; Oakland Athletics; Seattle Mariners; Tampa Bay Rays; Texas Rangers; and Toronto Blue Jays. The National League, originally founded in 1876, consists of the following teams: Arizona Diamondbacks; Atlanta Braves; Chicago Cubs; Cincinnati Reds; Colorado Rockies; Los Angeles Dodgers; Miami Marlins; Milwaukee Brewers; New York Mets; Philadelphia Phillies; Pittsburgh Pirates; San Diego Padres; San Francisco Giants; St. Louis Cardinals; and Washington Nationals.

I dunno about you guys but I will always remember this All Star Game for the play that Paul O'Neill made from left field at 3:01:04. Maybe that's just the Yankee fan in me. I never hear anybody talk about it though so I had to watch this just to make sure that really happened, that he really did gun down Fernando Vina at home plate in an All Star game with a perfect throw in a clutch late-inning situation. Sure did. That's the play of the game for me.

Okay so not that anyone cares haha, but I Saw The sandlot sometime in third grade. Which would have been 96-97 around there. and even though I lived in Florida, because of The sandlot I decided that the dodgers would be my team. But I didn't have a favorite player.so sometime during this game I turned on the channel and started watching. And I see that the dodgers have a player named GarySheffield. So I decided since he was an All-Star that that would be a good choice for my favorite player. And I ended up getting hundreds of his cards, despite not getting anything after the dodgers baseball cards.I got three jerseys, multiple autographs although I never met him, and he ended up retiring on my birthday. I was expecting to maybe have five or six years to watch him before he retired but I ended up getting 11. ever since he retired I haven't cared as much about baseball as I did back then. As a kid you have a favorite player and someone that you love but as an adult is harder to have that passion because you're not looking up to anyone anymore like that. So I still enjoy watching baseball but I will never love it as much as I did back then. And if it wasn't for this All-Star game I probably would have never started following Sheffield and I got to see so many great moments with him and I would give anything to go back and just be a kid again watching baseball and watching Sheffield play. We have a lot of good players in today's baseball. Mike trout, Bryce Harper whether you like him or not, Clayton Kershaw, so on so forth but McGuire bonds Sosa Griffey boggs Manny Tony gwynn, Cal ripken Jr, Jeter, arod, Piazza, Greg maddux, Tom glavine, Rodger Clemens, Mariano Rivera, chipper, Bagwell, Randy Johnson, shilling, Vlad, etc. steroids are not there were some amazing okayers. not to mention that steroids literally saved baseball. Baseball was never as entertaining as it was during the steroid era. That 98 home run race literally saved baseball. I will always miss these days. Thanks for the upload

How do you know that? All we know is whatever he was doing post 1999 was greater than what he had been doing before. Regardless of any alleged convo w Griffey, a player willing to dope to that extreme afterwards certainly shouldn't be assumed to have been natural the whole time before.

@doofus9575
@doofus9575 4 жыл бұрын
I guess I mainly disagree with your premise that we know for a fact when he started taking any steroids. He could certainly have been doing something like andro or HGH in the 90s, and being a top five hitter in a league full of PEDs then (as well as being willing to go hard on steroids later) is in itself perhaps suspicious, or he could have been entirely clean. The point is we don't know, and to declare that there was a "before steroids" point with Bonds is an assumption. We just know that he was definitely on serious drugs at and after the turn of the century, and that it was a lot more than whatever he was doing before. That's all we know.
@Jacobthekid28
@Jacobthekid28 4 жыл бұрын
@@doofus9575 That's fair to say that we dont exactly know when he started to juice however there is so much compelling evidence. First off, he got his new trainer who was believed to have supplied him with steroids after the 1998 season. Second off, Bonds most likely also starting taking them out of jealousy of Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire who of course stole the spotlight in 1998 because of the Homerun chase. Not only this but if you look at him in 1998 vs 2000 it is clear as day when he started, in 1999.
@doofus9575
@doofus9575 4 жыл бұрын
@@Jacobthekid28 Well it's certainly clear that after 1998 he started taking a lot more than whatever he was taking previously. It's not clear that what he was taking previously was nothing. Your last two points (about his physique changing and about the home run chase) are indisputable but I don't think all that relevant; they just demonstrate his change, but they don't demonstrate that his starting point was natural. I'm putting you in a tough spot because it's certainly impossible to prove a negative, especially looking back in history, but I think a very large number of power hitters were on andro and growth hormones in the 90s and Barry surely could have been one of them. I just don't like the certainty with which his modern defenders claim that he was natural beforehand
