At the conclusion of this game. The Astros have 9 tough games remaining against the Padres, Mariners, and their last series is against the Guardians. This is a brutal schedule. Also, if the Mariners win just one more game against the Astros. The Mariners will own the tie breaker against the Astros. Meanwhile the Mariners have about 6 tough games remaining. Even though the Astros have a 4.5 game lead in the AL West. When I take a hard look at everything involved. I like the Mariners' chances to win the division.

⁠@@jamesnash6101it’s over. Astros are 5 games ahead with 11 games left. They play the angels 4 games which they just swept. Astros are above .500 against teams that are above .500. Astros are good, they’re arent slouches who go on dry spells towards the end of the season. There’s a reason why they won the most pennants and divisions for the past decade..

@Bnguyen276 I could not agree with you more. Over the last 8 years, the general manager of the Mariners kept trading player after player. Meanwhile, Houston has slowly built a very strong team. It's the same thing year after year. Ya, mathematically, the Mariners could win the division but highly unlikely.

More than anything, I'm impressed that the Relief Pitching came in and *Didn't* give up a run. Usually, when the M's starters pitch a 0 run gem, the relief comes in and loses the game. More than hitting, fielding, running,, the Mariners relief pitchers need to stay at this level. If they can, the Mariners should go pretty deep this year.

As Mariner fans we also become a kinda Padres fan. The padres sweep astros this week, while Mariners need at least 2/3 or sweep of Yanks.

@@Kingmaker33 The Mariners can absolutely take 2 out of 3 from the Yankees. The Padres are playing really good and the Astros are playing well too. I don't know if they will sweep, but I think it could go either way on who takes 2. Astros are on the road and the Mariners are at home and that can have an impact. I think the series in Houston against the Mariners will be so key, it will be a play-off atmosphere. I'm an Astros fan, but I've said all year that I thought this is the Mariners year to go the distance. So as long as it's the Mariners or the Astros that win the division, I'll be happy.

I am happy the Mariners won, but I do miss the days when we just had Gray uniforms for the home team and white uniforms for the home team. Just my preference, all of these alternate jerseys and city connect uniforms doesn't work for me. Just my opinion, the Mariners City connect jerseys are ugly, I don't like them at all.
