My great nieces were in the choir that sang the National Anthem this night. They were mesmerized by the crowd. I think a bunch of youngsters became lifelong baseball fans tonight. And great job to the St. Peters/ Merchantville NJ Choir.

I know we tend to get down on these guys when we don't think they play well, or have good at bats. But the truth is this is a really good team with great players who do their best each day to bring home a win. Super proud of this team. Let's take the next step and get the home field advantage. Congrats on winning the division...not easy to do.

If they don't clean up the strikeouts and start hitting better with RISP we aren't winning it all. The pitching and defense are there. Power hitting is there. Just gotta get better at pitch selection at the plate and they will not only strikeouts less they will hit better with RISP.

@@GilmorePestile I agree. The problem I see is that they, and most other teams, are not geared to take pitches, be selective, work deep into counts, or do anything to just get on base. It seems everyone is looking to get the big hit and treating this game like it's an individual sport. At this point, I don't think they will change whatever strategy they have at the plate, which is regrettable. We may not get out of the first round. My biggest hope is for the Phils to get home field advantage. Even though many teams with the best record seem to falter in the playoffs, this is a much better team at home. It may work for them if they can win more than the Dodgers or at least tie them by the end of the month.

Because you can't always assume the batter will hit into a double play. When that happens, there's no RBI acredied to the hitter.
