I didn't like Rizzo either until i started really watching his fielding. He is a great first basemen and has made some clutch plays. Once he gets his batting in order, he will be a huge threat both offensively and defensively

What’s the point of Aaron Boone calling bullpen in situations where they end up giving up the runs? Rarely see him let the pitcher get out of trouble even with one out to go sometimes. I’ve seen him make that call a lot this season and it costed the Yankees a handful of runs sometimes even the lead. The bullpen isn’t strong enough to have them fan opposing flames. When Boone makes the call it’s sending the message of fear which helps the other teams swings.

Maybe I’ve been privileged to see better coaches at the professional level (Joe Torre, Buck Showalter, Terry Francona, Joe Jarardi) but Boone sometimes needs to let his starters go 7 innings through especially since they are all pretty much light out early in the game.

You see the best record and don’t realize that it’s still early in the season. After a Yankees leading record (of most 1st inning runs plus the starting pitching rotation being lights out), the bullpen is supposed to keep the game where it is and “hold & save” the lead. A starting pitcher of the Yankees will have a damn near no hitter plus scoreless 5. However when the team breaks the no hitter and gets RISP, Boone will rush to the bullpen which will result in a yankee lead getting cut thin. This happens almost every game I watch! My problem is he doesn’t let his pitchers get out of jams. Instead he’ll call bullpen to have them do exactly what he didn’t want the current pitcher to do, give up those big hits and earned runs…. So when it comes to facing the toughest teams in the league, (Orioles, Dodgers, Phillies, Guardians…) down the line Boone might get out managed by the one with a better end game. I pray that our stars like Volpe Soto and Judge can continue scoring runs because they are saving the bullpen right now. JUST SAYING!
