jaime jarrin is the other voice of the dodgers. vin scully will always be the voice but props to jaime. he gave hispanics someone to listen to as it brought them closer to the game and to fernando.

As a kid, I met Fernando in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico because my uncle played for Los Mayos de Navojoa. Fernando just happened to be there during the off season in 1981. He was a great person. He signed a ball for me. Many years later, I saw him again at Montebello golf course and I told him the story of meeting him as a kid, he just smiled and said What a small world. RIP 34

What an awesome experience that might have been meeting Fernando, and signing a ball for you, and then seeing him again years later. Wow! you’re so fortunate.

Thanks for sharing this. It brings up a lot of emotions thinking about Fernando and hearing now Jaime talk about him, and all Fernando contributed and all he meant to all us Dodgers fans. We moved to SoCal when I was 3 years old in 1952 and the Dodgers came a few years later. And through so many years of my life the Dodgers were the background with all the great players, announcers, managers, coaches. Hoping Fernando is having fun with Vinny, Tommy, Jackie, Roy C., Big D, Duke, Gil, Pee Wee, Newk, and all the other Dodgers greats. And all of them cheering the team on this year to win it all. Thanks for everything Fernando. You meant the world to so many of us. RIP my friend. 👍✊⚾🏆

At 7:30, Jaime is referencing the 1991 preseason game between the Dodgers and Brewers in Monterrey, Mexico. Fernando pitched and then was unceremoniously released by the team before Opening Day, leading to an acrimonious relationship until he returned to the team following an ownership change. Alana was referencing a regular season series between the Dodgers and Padres in 2018 in Monterrey.
