Nootbaar is on news everyday here in Japan, not only for his contribution to the team, but also for his character and love for Japan which we greatly appreciate!! He understands Japanese culture so well and his display of lovable character is attracting even some of the difficult/fanatic Japanese baseball fans to fall in love with him!

I say this as a Cub fan who is always sick to death of the Cardinals' scouting just finding diamonds in the rough...but man the Cardinals are lucky to have guys like Nootbaar on their team. every team needs a guy who just looks like he is having fun all the time out there lol

I'm Japanese and more of a White Sox fan for close to 30 years, and by default - I 'hate' the Cubs - so I've been also cheering for the Cardinals ever since high school, and gradually turned into a Cards fan as well as I went to University of Illinois and Indiana University, having friends who were from St. Louis and central Illinois who were Cardinals fans, and cheering for the Cards in 2006. Fast forward to this day, Lars made me even more a fan. Just like when Tadahito Iguchi was playing for the White Sox, Lars playing for Cardinals is a blessing in disguise. Happy to see him playing for Team Japan, and hoping for a long career. Would love to see him in playing in Japan at one point in his career for at least a season - and maybe a good storybook ending if he plays for Seibu Lions, a team based in the prefecture of his mother's home in Japan. Already a legend in the making in Japan.

I think Lars has the makings of becoming a big star in MLB. But if things don't work out for him here, he would fit perfectly playing in the NPB. The fans were absolutely in love with him over the past few weeks

Burleson in the outfield mire of young depth. Wondering if he is in a trade from strength deal within the next year. Pitcher value is so high, expecting a lot of Card fan grumbles when depth tweaks happen. If you can bet on the AAA Memphis Redbirds, go the over factoring the monster MLB ready slugging outfield and DH options.

@@markeastridge9649 I agree they’re set offensively for years to come. Pitching wise though, they don’t have many answers. Gordon G and Tink I think are both promising, Hjerpe may be solid. Not sure if there’s an ace in there or not though
