Our SP rotation seems to be set, as much as I would love to Roki Sasaki in pinstripes, I won’t sweat it if it doesn’t happen because there likely wouldn’t be any place to put him. Either he or Luis Gil would seeing less and less action on the mound. If we do land Sasaki, then maybe trade away Stroman for a valuable starting 1B. If we don’t Sasaki, I won’t sweat it because again, we seem to be set with the rotation. All that’s left now is get a starting 3B and a 1B and one more upgrade to the Bullpen. Then it’s money well spent offseason we had. Losing Juan Soto to the Mets is a good example here to how true it is that every cloud really does have a silver lining to it.

Juan Soto did the Yankees and their fans a favor by signing elsewhere. We now see that what he was asking was just unrealistic. That shows a guy with ZERO loyalty, ZERO respect for the team he plays for, ZERO respect for its fans & he has ZERO desire to win. Anyone who would command such an amount could careless about winning and more about money. Once you get into the multi-million range, you already will be set for life. Only a greedy man and one not dedicated to his team, winning, and its fans would do such a thing. For that, I thank him for departing. Seeing what the Yankees could add by not signing him is really eye opening. This is by far a better team than this last season. If the Yankees signed him, that would be it. They would likely spend no more after that and it's clear (after the world series) they need more than just a Juan Soto. One man won't win you it all in baseball. Baseball is very much a team sport. Judge was injured for the better part of the previous year so that accounts for some of the difference. Soto was a big help offensively but that doesn't mean the Yankees can't more than make up the difference. Bellinger and one more lefty bat will go a long way to make up for the loss of Soto.
@BKDBut4 күн бұрын
@@aa697 Judge played 52 fewer games and hit 21 less homers. He wasn't the only reason they were a bad offense. That doesn't account for 140 runs. Though I do agree that the Yankees have a 1 dimensional offense and it's completely dependent on Judge. If he slumps, they lose. So the Yankees better hope that at 33 he keeps playing like an MVP, and avoids more injuries. I'm not sure if Yankee fans are aware of Bellinger's career since like 2019. It's like how Yankee fans aren't aware that Jazz Chisholm isn't actually good and just got tricked by a little stretch
@aa6974 күн бұрын
@@BKDBut I am aware of Bellinger's offensive numbers from 2019 thru 2021. But he was injured I believe with a torn labrum so that can account for his numbers during that period. But he looked good the last couple of years and playing at Yankee Stadium with the short rightfield porch will definitely increase his homer and rbi totals. As far as Chisholm is concerned, he adds a lot of athleticism and can steal bases. He needs to develop his contact hitting skills and learn to bunt for base hits.
@BKDBut4 күн бұрын
@aa697 Bellinger's bigger problem is the broken leg, and the Dodgers not stopping him from swinging while it was healing. He changed his stance and created bad habits to compensate for the pain. He's also had numerous muscular issues. Plus there's just the added part of him coming up during the juiced ball era so his early numbers were already inflated

Soto owes Judge like 40 million dollars from his total contract just based on how much more productive he was able to make him by being behind to protect in the lineup. Fortunately for Bellinger and unfortunately for the Yankees, Judge will do that again this year and if Belli stays healthy, he's going to have a monster season and make himself into a Mets prospect. I can only speculate the same thing for Devin Williams. He clearly wants to keep a beard and he can keep his place in New York. If you already have Bellinger, Judge, Stanton and Jazz as your counting stat guys why not fill out the rest of your lineup with contact hitters with a worse case scenario they have low counting stats just so you get more contact rate in the lineup. The real fans know a lot of those only 40 RBI 8 HR but 0.270 to 0.300 hitters make serious noise in the postseason because they hit singles at an elite level. Plus these type of hitters have a high potential of not costing as much in a trade with another team to get them or to a long term contract in free agency and alot of times you can get them on a short term contract. Then you are left with more money to spend on even more pitching. Yankees do such an awful job at building an offense. I want to see the Yankees have a 2 singles + 2 doubles to score idk like 3-4 runs in a postseason inning. That’s baseball. It’s so frustrating! Imagine having a lineup with 6 0.300 hitters with varying counting stats? One can only dream

Yankees choked in 5th inning of WS with basic field playing errors. Corbin Burnes would be great addition not financially possible. Don’t forget the Yankees need to fill two holes first base - Cody Bellinger could do first base temporary, Yankees also need second baseman. I hope the Yankees get Anthony Santander a good outfielder and slugger or Adolis Gracia another slugger.

You're a moron apparently. Because you for some reason think a pitcher with a sub 3 ERA isn't helping his team. Thinking someone who is under a 3.00 sucks just marks you as a fool.

And if he did, and the Yankees failed to win... You would be here the next season bitching about how stupid he was to get them.

No, they do NOT. The Yankees Rotation is Cole and the HOPE&PRAY crew. All players have the possibility of injury. But the HOPE&PRAY crew have missed SIGNIFICANT time and undergone NUMEROUS operations and you HOPE & PRAY that they make it. Max is the personification of the HOPE & PRAY on EVERY PITCH that they don’t live up to their injured past.

Outrageously overpriced baseball is now just five or six teams who can spend literally billions while the rest of the league has no chance
