This is another example that Profesional Sports is a BUSINESS. Players will always try to get as much $$$$ as they possibly can, while they can. The name on the BACK of the jersey is more important than the name on the FRONT of the jersey. I don't blame the players one bit. Also, the emotionally attached fans will continue to pay the crazy ticket prices because the name on the FRONT of the jersey is more important than the name on the back of the jersey.

Am very excited about how this is going. No overspending on statuesque players. Sox have a young go-go-get em team on defense (and the base paths) making power less of a concern. Let's build a solid rotation that doesn't pitch itself into rehab in July, beef up the pen, and take down some goliaths in October with hustle! Reminds me of 1975!
@garygagnon463717 күн бұрын
@@SvenAnarki their defense is atrocious. Their offense went pin drop silent once devers was hurt last year and they haven't added a bat and lost O'Neil. They have no pen. If he's fully healthy and Crochet delivers in a similar fashion to 2024 and the Sox land an impact RHB(Teoscar Hernandez) or someone else, I can project the Sox would be possibly a playoff team slotting somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd wild card position .They are building a solid foundation with a nice mix of veterans and home grown talent. They are 2-4 years away from a potential return to the Fall Classic at the earliest. If they made it by some miracle in '25 and assuming the Dodgers would oppose them I seriously doubt they'd win a single game. LA is stacked. The NL is the stronger league in 2025 and for the next half dozen seasons.

Baltimore doesn't have the financial resources to make lots of big deals in this market. O'Neil's deal was unexpected. IDK if they gave a qualified offer to Burnes, but they may be holding back, trying to stay in negotiations with Burnes's agent. Don't forget, Baltimore tanked a few years ago, prefering to stay out of the free agent market they couldn't afford, so they waited on the young corps to get ready to bring up. I think Buehler ran into head winds about his durability, and no one wanted to give him a multi-year deal. So he is signing a one-year deal, hoping to restore his health image and then go the route of Cody Bellinger, who also was snubbed by the Dodgers and most of MLB over his shoulder injury and couldn't get a multi-year deal, but has since recovered durabilty enough he is getting elite salary.
