MLC2213 Who Is A Holyman?

A Buddha arises in the world to teach how to liberate oneself from the entrapment within Samsāra. Death in any one plane of existence results in rebirth within the same plane or in another plane in Samsāra depending on one's kamma.
Setting oneself to avoid evils, to do good and to purify one's mind to attain Nibbāna are the formulae for liberation. Understanding the different planes in Samsāra tells us this is an arduous, yet doable journey of liberation with self-discipline and diligence. The right effort should be not to target a temporal good rebirth which is easier but the permanent Nibbānic liberation.
