I had a stroke in 2012 and I had to start all over, I felt ruined and I healed myself, but to get to that point it took me two years to walk and then I worked on my speech because I had aphasia and could not speak well. I discovered that if I heard a word and I knew the word but the pathway wasn't there if someone would say the word for me and I would repeat it, that formed a new pathway for me. I listened to books on tape and I was mostly back to normal. The reason I am telling you this is don't give up on yourself, you probably know what you need better than most doctors. Do what you need to do to take care of yourself.
