MLF Team Trail: Wheeler and Connell Against Them ALL

Major League Fishing announced the 2024 Team Trail and some of the best angler on the Bass Pro Tour have teamed up to win $720,000.00 total purse. The team favorites must be Dustin Connell and Jacob Wheeler versus the rest of the professional bass fisherman and anglers. The rules are a lot like the MLF Summit Cups so the anglers do not know the whereabouts of the lake they will fish until 30 days before the tournament starts.

Taking Becker and Shuffield. Both great anglers plus Becker has a lot of time on that area of the pond. Weather might be ruff that time of year so you could see the anglers stuck in the bay.

Not the biggest fan of the brand but love the idea and format. Glad they went to a two man team deal. Love the live coverage as well as the anglers. Maybe the crest will grow on me.

Hey Steve, great video. Love the concept of a team tournament. It's more like a Thursday nighter but on a bigger scale. The fact that it will be broadcast live is even better, in my opinion. Thinking Bassmaster should be steeping up their game. Their live events are good, but if you don't have ff1, I believe that's it. You seem to be watching a second tear broadcast with dead air times and Sporadic Commentary at best. Tight lines. Regards, Steven.

Saw this a couple of days ago, can't wait. Many anglers, comment about, MLF always changing things. This what I like, as a organization. They are willing to change, if it doesn't work out,let's get it right. Bass hasn't changed the format, since there creation. The one thing, I wish they would do,is catch, weigh, release, especially in spawning and summer tournaments.

I think the time of year is going to be a big player in the team series. If it was in the middle of summer I would put my house on Wheeler and DC but moving into the fall the older heads are gonna have a real chance.

The Elites should remove the bottom 10 anglers, however it's over two seasons and they have exemptions that I still don't understand. But let me look into it. Thanks for the idea. Tight lines and Cheers!!

How did they choose teams this year? I think Becker and Shuffield will be hard to beat. I hate that they once again changed stuff. I liked the three man teams in separate boats . I will watch first event to see if I like it

I wish some elites would be able to join the team series. Side note Steve, how do you think the st Lawrence river will fish for the elites next week after the bpt is there this week for 6 days with the every fish counts, those fish won't have a break at all. I think it'll be a great test for the elites and I don't mind the every fish counts when they on certain fisheries that don't have big numbers of 4 and 5 lbs bass everywhere

I love it. Especially the livestreaming. I'm guessing they will do what they did in Florida where they fished Minneola Chain for opening rounds and Apopka for finals. (Erie for opening rounds, Chautauqua for finals?) Team Wheeler has to be favorite. But, how about Becker/Shuffield for the dark horse? If they fish in Chautauqua I like Browning/Gagliardi. And, Sunday-Friday format minimizes going up against football while livestreaming. Bring it on!

Different styles will make a better team. Same styles doesn't always win. There are a lot of team tournaments and different styles usually win.

I'm guessing they made exceptions for some teams. Looks like roomies are on the same team. (Wheeler household. Becker household.) I'm betting Ott and Andy (or Edwin) are a team, and Reese/Murray.

Boring...DC and JW are the best 2. They have great personalities. "IF" they want to make a great event, run a Golf Davis CUP type event. Name a captain from Bassmaster and MLF. Take the top 10 from each league. Keep 2 open slots for captain picks. Now run an event consisting of single day fishing, team fishing, etc. Just like golf. Now, that would be entertaining. Embrace the 2 league concepts and run with it.
