I live and grew up on Lake Lanier, been fishing it for 32 years... the big green fish are in deep water. Seeing these guys beat up the banks and complaining about skinny post spawn fish... while fishing a few feet of water in spawning grounds. When we fish for striper on lake lanier we constantly pick up magnum, 3 to 5lb spotted bass on herring. We catch these fishing 25 to 65 feet of water over tree tops, humps and points. When i see these guys throwing at the banks i can't help but think "the big fish are behind you!"

I don't think Pro's should use a net. There are 3 parts to catching a fish; hookset, fight the fish and landing it. You should be able to get that fish in the boat by hand or swinging it.

From the 1:08:00-1:09:00 mark anyone notice the guy throwing the spinnerbait line wrapped around his rod from the reel to the first eye

No one fishes below Browns Bridge if they wish to catch fish. The last time I went fishing there I covered the Rock wall on the western side of the bridge and caught 3+ pounders in one run. If there's a good wash on that wall you fish the mud line for the largest fish. All I've every caught with regularity is spots.
