The worst thing I've ever heard come out of a coaches mouth was when Scott Ratliff said is the most important thing a defenseman can have is a good stick, not footwork, strength, or communication. Now I know it's good to have stick skills but when you're getting dodged by someone like Paul Rabil being able to run transition doesn't really help.

Footwork is more important.... If he can't get by you he can't score...

Dalton Ryan if your a defender you don't need very good stick skills. You need to be able to stick with your man. Not switch hands every 5 seconds...
