I thought the moral was that sometimes you should help others when you see they need it, rather than waiting for them to ask for it. The moral was reinforced by showing that even those who seem to not want help will still be grateful for it.

First viewing of this after Silver Quill's review of "Uprooted". And while he thinks the yaks didn't develop much until then, I think this was a big step in the right direction. As we saw Prince Ruthorford wasn't against being given help, he just won't ask for it. It's a pride and honor thing. Sure, a lack of communication was the source of this conflict, but it still wasn't just them being barbarian brutes like they where depicted in Party Pooped.

Honestly, it's not a bad episode (better than the last yak ep at least) but it does feel kind of flat. I think that's more due to the general quality of S7 than anything though. Also, I can only imagine a roadtrip with you and Pinkie would be amazing to witness.

It was an admittedly mild episode, but the last one left big shoes to fill. Still good for what it was. Oh, we'd have a blast, the two of us, lol

I’ve heard a lot about the message here being that Yaks don’t ask for help, but that doesn’t mean they won’t accept help when it’s given, and I can see that. But today, for the first time, I wonder about something else, and it kind of relates to Fiddler on the Roof, with Tevye and Motel. When Motel stood up to Tevye, that made Tevye respect Motel, because now Motel was acting like a man. One pet peeve of mine is when people say “Stand up for yourself, don’t let others push you around!” but those same people hate it when you stand up to THEM. So I appreciate that sincerity, when someone respects you for standing up for yourself to THEM. I wonder, could there be something similar here? Yaks are prideful and stubborn. Pinkie didn’t back down, even in the face of that stubborn pride she held her own. Maybe she acted like a Yak, and maybe that contributed to what Prince Rutherford said, and the decision to make her an honorary Yak? Maybe that’s just what I’m bringing to the episode, but it’s an idea that I like. If you tell me to stand up for myself, I’ll respect you all the more if you stick to that even when I’m standing up for myself to you. (And that means a lot to me, because I don’t stand up for myself as often as I could.)

Although this was one of my least favorite episodes of the season thus far, I really liked the unexpected twist at the end. I thought it was a novel idea for a kids' show to portray a cultural group that refuses to _ask_ for help, but will still gladly accept it when given and show gratitude.

You've still got 19,999,999 questions left. ;) 4. 4:32 I never knew Twi was good at arts and crafts. That was some creative use of materials on hoof! 5. 5:45 "Nice dismount!" There's something funny about hearing you say that to an equine. 6. 8:03 [Nice to see some female yaks, btw.] How can you tell? Not to sound racist or anything, but they all kind of look the same to me. 7. 9:18 "When in Rome, do as the Romans do!" I think the yaks would be more at home in Sparta than in the Roman Empire. 8. 9:37 Prince Rutherford: "And *that* how yaks defeat evil, and save world!" TPrower: "Now, be honest, guys. Wouldn't you want to hear the rest of that story?" Given the highly questionable veracity of the prince's story about being trapped in a hole all Winter, you'll forgive me if I doubt the truthfulness of his oral accounts of events. 9. 12:20 Pinkie: "There's STILL snow everywhere?!" Shut up, Sans! Nobody asked for your input, smartass. (I can just imagine his retort: Better a smartass than a dumbass.) 10. 16:38 Apparently, Pinkie Pie figured the best "cows" for the job would be herself, AJ, and Dashie. Makes sense, if you only take speed and physical strength into account. 11. 19:23 "Uh oh. You just read him the riot act in front of his own people." Makes me wonder how Princess Celestia would react to somepony publicly questioning her authority. 12. 22:49 "It's been awhile since we've seen _that_ outfit of hers." [But seriously, Pinks, put some pants on. Your pudgy pink butt makes you stand out.] As opposed to Rarity's rump, which would just blend in with all the snow. 13. 23:17 [Flutters, you're being so adorable right now. =P] My favorite part of the episode, right there. 14. 23:37 "Now that's what I call having a green horn!" And that's what I call the benefits of being an alicorn (combining earth pony magic with telekinesis)

Not a lesson you see very often, that I can recall. 1. Just plain bonkers, I swear. 2. Silly Narrator. Season _6_ was when we got the dragons as allies. =P 3. I can tell ya one thing: you won't be bored with Pinkie as a travel companion, XD 4. Tell me about it. The little bits were even color-coded like the Mane 6. How apropos, lol 5. Heh. Pinks knows how to make an entrance. 6. I don't blame you. I just felt the hairstyles and lack of beards of some lend the idea, like the one with the hat there, or the one close to the end who proclaimed Rutherford was right about the snow melting. That latter one was even voiced by Andrea Libman, lol 7. This! Is! YAKYAKISTAN! *stomp* 8. I do see your point there. 9. Pfft, yeah. Just like him, the little wise guy. 10. Heh. Seriously, tho, if those Bovineville cows aren't a thing yet, they will be. 11. She'd probably be a lot more patient about it, even if she didn't have a proper explanation or excuse. 12. Heh, no kidding. The perfect camouflage in the frozen north 13. She's perfect for the situation: quiet as a mouse, delicate as a deer, and with cat-like tread. 14. Absolutely =)

It's great that the writers dug deeper into the Yaks' culture. I'm hoping that they're cooking up another story based on Griffonstone, I'd like to find out how things are holding up over there now that we have two Griffon friends(Gilda and Gabby) and if the residents of the kingdom are becoming closer in friendship(even the possibility of seeing a new, potential ruler for Griffonstone, since they haven't had one since King Guto).

This is a rather pleasant episode, though it's still among the weaker ones of the season. By the way, did you know that episode 12 has already been released in Australia? And 13 is going to be released there in a few hours.

Honestly, I loved the comedy of Hard to Say Anything. That, and I also loved the songs. As for this episode, it's more low-key than most of the season, which some would see as being boring.

1. I never said I found it boring. I said others might. 2. No episode has actually bored me yet. Some are just closer to that than others. 3. Hearts and Hooves Day is actually my third favorite episode of season 2.

I do like the episode its just not as good as some of the other, I consider it to be probably be the weakest episode so far, I really only liked Pinkie in it.
