What I mostly like of this arc is how organic and imperfect Celestia is, opposed to the Untouchable yet Beaten-by-Chrysalis Celestia we see in the animations. And Luna is such an amazing character 😸😻

This is shaping up to be the best comic in the series, plot wise. It has the good humor and characterization of the chrysalis arc, emotional tugs from luna's arc, and a good deal of background info from Big mac's . It has elements like these and foreshadows great things. Plus, the Onserver finally is being acknowledged and I am not as crazy as I thought.

Nothing against the cartoon, but the comics get away with a lot more. Both in terms of humor and seriousness, they get to push boundaries the cartoon doesn't. Again, I am not saying the cartoon doesn't poke and prod out of tame. I'm just saying the comic gets away with a lot more in jokes and gets to expand on ideas started in the cartoon. And I like it.

In end of this comic you notice that Starswirl got his hat inside a whale, but the was another pony inside the whale, the pony looks just like the knight from Indiana Jones movie when he picked the right chalice. In the end of this comic is a reference.

I asked this question over in the FIM Wiki: Does anypony know the name of the "gray-coated stallion" (as they described him over there),@.40 in the suit jacket and fedora who approaches Spike and Twily? He's been in the comics before, but I've searched for a name and can't find one! (And just about EVERY pony has been named by Hasbro or the fans by now...) I'm going to start calling him "Phantom Stranger Pony" if I don't find out soon! The way he just disappeared on them, he seems to be as mysterious as DC Comics' omniscient indirect helper. ;D
