I know it sounds really, REALLY stupid, but you can just randomly pick the name of a _Yankee Candle_ scent, and 9/10 times it works. It's mostly better for Earth Ponies, but you get a few weathery ones for Pegasi too. Here's a few from their Top 25 most popular scents: Butter Cream. April Showers. Midsummer Night. Sparkling Cinnamon. Clean Cotton. Pink Sand. You can't say those don't sound at least partially like actual MLP names.

My new OC I'm working on is going to be called Forgotten Lotus My reason why: She's very shy and often left out by her friends. She's a pastel coloured earth pony who always liked to look up at the night sky. She often feels bad about herself and is too quiet for her own good. Her free time is often spent in the Golden Oak Library as everybody she knows as friends ends up forgetting her anyway.

I have a character named MudPrint (wolf) she gave up half her soul to save the one's she loved. When she gave up her soul the void was replaced with a demon named Sareth. MudPrint has no control over what Sareth does. MudPrint has a scar on her back right leg showing she is connected to the Hearth-Stone (the stone she gave her soul to) If something were to happen to the Hearth-Stone MudPrint has the chance of dying and Sareth taking over her dead carcass

Anyone have suggestions? My OC is a Pegasus who is moderately shy that adores music. He has a cyan-purple mane and a red fur coat. Another way to name an oc is to look at their cutie mark. Applejack has an apple cutie mark, Twilight sparkle has a sparkle cutie mark, Bonbon has a lolly/candy cutie mark, ect. I names one of my OC’s “Galactic creator” because her cutie mark was a paint pallet with dollops of galaxy paint. It also links to personality, as the cutie marks represent the talents of the pony. Also, if you are choosing and name for your oc but haven’t given them a cutie mark yet that’s fine too!

Brianna Sibley A basic name for kind of basic character. She is blue, so she must be sad. I would suggest going a route different than the normal one, for a constantly sad pony. Especially since a depressed pony wouldn't be so for very long, in the F.I.M. universe. You could try bitter-drop, or cloudy soul.

Lot of my OC have names that are composite from 2 words. For example Vuma (Vu- Vulkán which means volcano, Ma - Magma becuse he spews it) or Triho (Three horns). Well but Aggy is much more complicated. It means something to me. I just love bearded dragons and when I've finally got two of them, I was founding some names for them and the one that really chaught my eye was ''Agi''. I loved how it sounded but the spelling was just weird. So I've changed it a little bit and BOOM!! Aggy was here! I didn't named my dragons like that beacuse in the same time I was creating my main FNaF OC and the only thing that I was misssing was name. I've even add bearded dragon to her backstory as her pet when she was a kid! I might have gone a bit overboard with my pony OCs over the years. There just was a time when I discovered just how much I actually like the process of creating them. My first one was an alicorn princess. For the past nine years or so her name was Evangeline. Only last year I changed her name to Freya. She's heavily associated with spring, and the name Freya means "goddess of spring" so that is that. I also slightly tweaked her colors at the same time. The second pony OC I created was a unicorn called Vanilla Twilight. I've been developing her personality over the years and created a few ponies to be her friends. Those ponies are Swiftwind, a pegasus and two earth ponies called Strawberry Cheesecake and Apple Tea. There's also Freya's mom, Fay Cascade. And the most recent one is Freya's unicorn filly, Springtime Belle.

Zykieran Portis I don't think Misty star should be half anything if it is a changeling. You could say it prefers to change to a Pegasus pony, and then align it with Queen chrysalis or King Thorax. I also don't think a princess of breezies is really necessary, as it can lean your character towards being a Mary sue. Perhaps just an important town breezy would work. The rest seem fine, it would probably be good if you worked on their character sheets and backgrounds, if you haven't already.

My first one was named Ash Leaf. They were a Pegasus Pony, and was most known for their Nomadic nature and Tea Master (great at using herbs). Mint green fur, white mane, and a shawl hiding her wings…Bad wing injury as a filly means she can’t really fly too much, and has lightning-related trauma. Her personality also has her anger run cold, on the rare times someone/something is unfortunate enough to trigger it.

My main OC is Koko Cream, a light brown pegasus with white, long, curly-ish hair with dark brown streaks. She always wears a pink striped scarf and likes to make hot cocoa with the marshmallows made of clouds! Her cutie mark is a cup of cocoa with a steam cloud shaped in a heart! She's very talented, but is very clumsy and sometimes spills the cocoa on herself. Because this happens so often, a piece of her right wing got severely burnt after she tripped and landed with her wing in the oven. Since quite a few feathers are gone, she is unable to fly long distances. She likes to hang out with Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, but she can't get along with Rainbow Dash because she can't stand boasting. Is it a good oc? I hope she's not a Mary Sue! 😫

I wanted to make a character I could identify with, so mine is Ellie Shimmerline. Ellie because that's what my s/o calls me all the time. Shimmerline because I tend to take a stroll in the forest or on the beach, and what I find beautiful about the nature is the shimmering lines that shine through it; through beach water and tree branches. I'm always told by people that I'm kind or sweet because I often come across as a rather pleasing or submissive person (which I know isn't the best, because I need to care for myself as well but that's my business), however that's why I think 'sweet' and 'kind' can be somewhat associated with the calmness of nature and its beauty (the shimmers). Therefore I feel like Shimmerline matches with my character, and it also has a nice sound, in my opinion. And Ellie + Shimmerline also sounds good enough when you sound it out. Even if other names than 'Ellie' in front of 'Shimmerline' might sound better, it has more meaning. Other names I've considered were: Dewdrop Vivid Sky Mellowy All what these names have in common are their delightful and natural traits.

It sits up there with the other Mary sue characters who are either all powerful, or are directly connected to the Canon ponies. Especially since Luna doesn't have a daughter. I actually used your name creation formula from the very beginning and ended up with good sounding names and also fitting to the ponies. My main character (on my pfp) went through very long name development, but finally the name got stuck on name "Synthia Heartlead." Name "Synthia" is derived from word "synth," which is short for synthesiser as main musical instrument she plays. Last name "Heartlead" was originally supposed to be "Hardlead," because that's also a musical term used in sound synthesis. But it ended up like this and it's literally a synth "lead played by heart." And the best thing is, the name itself is so unique, that there is no similar name to it either in MLP, or in anyone else's OC.

I love taking inspo from other medias as well. An example being names of Pokemon moves, like "Worry Seed" and a made up move from a rom hack [Fool's Gold], called "Glacier Slam" [signature move of the new ice type Typhlosion in that hack]. The two OCs are an orange farmer Earth pony who's always worried for her father ever since her mother passed away. He became depressed because of it. And, it also shows how she's always working and doing most of the work on the farm, especially the oranges. Glacier Slam is an icy themed unicorn who has a love for travelling the most dangerously cold and snowy/icy mountains, along with her biggest goal: Discovering the lost village of the ice ponies of the Northern Arctic Circle. [I plan on making a whole entire story for that as well.] I love coming up with fitting names for my OCs, it's always so satisfying when it works!

I feel like your oc contrasts itself very much. I dont think the color palette would work very well. Also, how would she have gotten the name? You can't say it's because of her cutie mark because ponies are not born with them. I suggest watching Tyandaga's video on cutiemark's as well. Cutie marks are a representation of who that pony is and their talent. Loving summer... isn't a talent nor would it be a representation. I suggest changing the color pallet to be of the warm spectrum (reds, yellows and oranges) of colors to fit the name, and think of a reason she identifies with summer. Overall, it's up to you and how you make your character. I wish you luck!

I know that what I'm going to say WILL enrage many bronies, but my OC has two species in one, not like others like o pegasi with dragon/bat wings but much like a changeling can shape shift between two species, Dragon and alicorn, he often times is mistaken for a changeling for this. but I know what people are saying about this "oh no an alicorn oc shoot it kill it with fire it sucks" he has a lot of flaws to counter his power level, for example his power is not unlimited like a battery it WILL run out, and when it does run out he can not move his body (it doesn't get stiff like stone he just can't move). his stubbornness is quite high so he nearly gets I trouble during battle, in other words if he is in battle and he needs help to win the battle help WILL be there but he refuses it which nearly costs him his life. And another flaw his alicorn form is not like the others though he may have been born one but his abilities as an alicorn ARE hindered, to explain his father is a dragon and his mother a unicorn do to how gifted they were fate gave them a child who shapeshifts between the two, now of course his mom is a unicorn he shouldn't have wings bit if you add his fathers genes his unicorn form got the wings do to his fathers genes uh how might I say connected a gene within his body he had from one f his ancestors in which helped sprout wings, like I said his parents were gifted. now he looses his parents due to a mysterious force at the age of 5, gets take cared of by an honorary big brother who ends up beig defeated by a nightmare creature in a battle resulting in a tie at the age of 6 gets adopted not at first but with time by princess celestia, she basically take him under her wing after sensing he was going to the dark side, not going tar wars here, now at first he had too much pride and held the tears back but she gets him to let it out and he starts to feel better, with time they refer to one another as mother and son, when he first stayed with here she let him call her mom to help ease the pain away soon the love for him grew, the stories she read him inspired him to become a warrior, celestia decided with his gifted abilities if he went into training he could become a guardian if you will. at the age of 13 he began his training, in fact he met twilight the very day he started his training, to clarify I intertwined the show story with mine all credit show character wise goes to Hasbro not me, he was on his way when well the whole magic ordeal when twilight got her cutie mark and soon after celestia began tutoring twilight my oc met twilight. twilight and celestia both helped him with his training by giving him the confidence to push himself to got past his limits much like how goku is with training or even vegeta. at the age of 18 due to how far he pushed himself he earned the title "GAURDIAN OF EQUESTRIA" where in the background he would battle the most dangerous creatures in equestria so the others don't have to. now his cutie mark is a very unique one it's a combination of three symbols, a dragon head, a heart and a unicron head. this symbolizes the bond between his parents and his role between the two species, he's the equalizer between dragons and ponies, and no I did not mean to reference the film(s)/book(s), he earn this cutie mark after he went out exploring on his own when his parents were still with him. so what happened to them? well somehow they got teleported to the equestria girls world where tthey tried to protect both worlds from an evil character, i'm still trying to come up with a name for him. down the line my oc falls in love with princess luna and eventually they get married, this is my story let me have this dream do it in your story I don't care, I can relate to her far more than any of the other female characters. good thing he does for before the marriage he adopts four little fillies who were orphaned by an enemy of my oc. their names are Snowflake a blind unicorn who is gifted at making snowflakes, Skylight Gem another unicorn whose determined to find a place for herself and at first was terrified of dragons for it was a dragon who orphaned her to begin with, Harmony Twista pegasis who whenever she sees trouble she tries to bring harmony and just loves twist ant turn much like a roller coaster, and finally hyper storm another pegasis who has the hyperness of Pinkie Pie and the loyalty and weather abilities of Rainbow Dash, and no this is not a Pinkie Dash/Rainbow Pie ordeal resemblances are there but not intended. in fact my oc tries to be a father figure for them and he somehow ends up being like an honorary big brother for many ponies unintentionally of course. so now a short version of my oc's backstory has been told maybe now I can get help to hopefully give him a fitting name. in a way his personality is like Optimus Prime and Goku with a good bit of stubbornness to boot. brave with a lot of heart and Brave Heart is already taken dang it :| so if any good suggestions please help, and p.s. what I told here IS a shortened down version of my oc's backstory.

My MLP OC is a non pony OC. It is a timberwolf puppy who looks pretty small and the type of wood he is made of is a bright oak color. He HATES the other Timberwolves, so he left his pack. can someone help me? i want to name my oc something that has 2 "k"s in it cuz kk is my childhood nickname any suggestions? i don't want kind please, it doesn't seem to suit my oc. her cm is a pencil drawing a keychain, she makes keychains and likes to draw, shes quite timid, she has social anxiety, and has a few friends. has long pastel pink hair with a pastel purple gradient at the end, i might change it to yellow or blue but imma use pink in the mean time. her coat colour is dark purple but i might change it to aqua or something along that line.

My main OCs name is “Silent Vigil” and he is based off of the World of Warcraft Paladin chargers (he has armor that looks similar to the chargers, and his hooves glow when wearing the armor.) He is a member of a group of ponies who focus in the restoration and construction of historical structures. Their main focus is to restore buildings with significant historical meaning, such as cathedrals, chapels, town halls, and even schools and old castles. The group is based out of a small town to the north of canterlot known as “Hayton” (Based off of the US city of Houghton, which is in Northern Michigan) His primary role in this group is restoring old woods, using a mixture of oils and resins to repair and strengthen the materials so they can still retain the original woodwork of the structure. His cutiemark is a flask of resin.

Perhaps make their cutie mark a pick axe, or shovel or a mining hat. Minecraft itself is a bit too much on the nose. I would suggest watching Tyandaga's video about cutie marks.
