trixie really wasn't one, but since she was one of the only antagonistic characters in the first 3 seasons she got lumped into the same villain category as discord and nightmare moon lol, the same thing happened to gilda and iron will, sure they were douches but they were some of the only douches so they were treated as villains too

I just wish we had gotten more of a background story on how trixie became she pony she was and why she needed to protect her pride. I'd love to understand more about her.

the Zephyr vs discord argument is like- so unfair. Fluttershy never just instantly liked discord. She was trying to be nice to him because she was TOLD TO by PONY GOD. She was shown to still be angry at the situation, like with the ice skating scene. But discord is also a 1000s of years old raging villain, she was probably terrified of being mean to him. Plus, it was in his nature to be chaotic, and he only knew how to be chaotic evil, it was fluttershy's job to show him that chaotic good is also a thing. Zephyr, on the other hand, was raised around kindness, and instead of learning to act kind too, he learned how to take advantage of that kindness. Fluttershy had probably grown up her entire life with Zephyr stomping all over her and her family, and now that she's had a few seasons of character development and assertiveness lessons, she's finally confident enough to stand up to that. She has no reason to back away from being a bit harsh to Zephyr, since he's her brother and discord was a literal villain. she wouldn't have been as scared to be meaner to Zephyr. Zephyr is shown to be lazy, rude, and he takes advantage of the kindness of others, but despite all this Fluttershy is still trying to help him, which shows that she doesnt just care about discord more, she wants to help them BOTH, but with discord, she knew he needed to be shown kindness, and anger would just make him mad, with Zephyr, he had been shown too much kindness in his life and needed someone to be sterner. She isshown to be genuinely proud when he finally does something himself. She isn't just mean to him for the sake of it, she's trying to help him improve in the only way she knows.

People seriously gonna hate on Pipsqueak solely because he’s British, yet they stan Octavia at the same time? Double standards 🙄 Also, I admit that in the movie, Pipp does seem more like a side character - but as the series progresses, she does fit the main cast a lot more, having some really nice chemistry with Izzy and of course Zipp!

Some people in this video gave Fluttershy too much flack, so I'll defend my girl: Just because a character is kind doesn't mean they're uninsteresting or lack depth. Being kind to a fault is a valid character flaw, and we see Fluttershy struggle with it and evolve throughout the show.

When Celestia suddenly announced to the gang how their retiring and passing the throne to Twilight without giving any sort of advice or tips on ruling an entire civilization populated by every mythical creature you could think of, I was hoping she was just trolling her, but no she was just all like ¨alright Twilight you are now ruler deal with it no questions asked, now me and Luna are gonna go visit Magic Kingdom at Disney World, have fun love you bye! like even poor Twilight said how sudden all was and she did not want nor was interested in becoming a ruler in the first place.

i always thought the mane 6 were kind of the jerks in boast busters lol, like even if trixie was a loudmouth you can't just start heckling a performer because you don't think she's good at magic...for all they knew it could have just been a stage persona (which in a way it kinda was to a certain extent, you gotta talk yourself up to impress the crowd), they knew literally nothing about her at that point and decided to hate her and try to knock her down a peg

This is what I've been saying since I saw the episode!! She's putting on a show and ponies liked it, why did they have to be mean like "Erm, our friend is actjally greater and more powerful than you are!"?? That's like one of the only times I can think of where the entire mane 6 kinda sucked and didn't learn the right lesson at the end. Like it's nice that Twilight learns being good at something and showing that off doesn't mean she's boasting and bragging, but why can't the same sentiment be extended to Trixie in that episode? Just cuz she wasn't good *enough*?? The worst thing she really does is make up a story that wasn't true, and it was Snips and Snails' fault the Ursa Minor showed up. So like???????

Pip is from trottingham a horse pun of Nottingham which is a street in London, he seems to be one only pony with natural equine coat and mane,tail colours then the unnatural colours of the other ponies

Really it’s because those 2 already had a history with each other so when that happens it’s easy to gossip about them because when someone might see a person that’s been really negative to you in the past you’ll want your friends to stay away from them because you don’t want to associate with someone you dislike

Just my own opinion that Celestia is an extremely incompetent ruler. Tbh she shoves things under the rug and acts surprised when it comes back to bite her. But not only that but she puts Twilight and friends so solve all her problems, i mean Twilight is still young and has to put up with literally every threat that ever comes into equestrian while Celestia sits back doing nothing? I understand that Twilight needs to learn new things, but having her deal with serious threats to the kingdom is straight up irresponsible. Celestia is probably the most powerful sorceress in the land and she still makes Twilight do it. Idek I just think Celestia kind of sucks at her job

If the 1000 years of rule at minimal is accurate and to have a fairly nice society as the mlp shows depicts, I highly doubt she can be considered an "extremely incompetent ruler" also some of the stuff was dealt with for ~1000 years ago... It is kinda fair to consider it not really a problem by that point or even really remember it off the top of her head. Saying she does nothing is also inaccurate I would argue, she is a ruler, her job is to rule. Not go gallivanting off to play hero, early in her career as a ruler she could probably get away with it since it would have been a less peaceful time and rulers of the time were probably more proactive in securing their country against threats. After 1000 years of relative peace, there is a good chance it would be a hard sell to excuse why the ruler of the country is running off to fix problems. So she is doing as rulers do and delegating tasks to someone she feels confident to be able to carry out the tasks.

Pipp's personality and character for many seems to be hard to spot in the movie. Unfortunately, there was very little for her to do in the movie. But, she started to have good chemistry with the others in the mane 5 during the movie. You even showed one of the parts "that's like my sixth favorite color" she said excitedly to Izzy. A little earlier, there was additional good interaction with Hitch in a more indirect way. Then, we see her and her sister squabble, a typical sibling. And finally, we see Pipp have arguably her only contribution while at Alpgabittle's. This was her good interaction with Sunny. People see the phone and nothing else with her. Then, her continuing the lies make it even worse for the fans. I just don't think that the fans even gave her a single chance from the get go cause "oh no phone!"

honestly, trixie is the pony equivalent of devious diesel in thomas the tank engine. let me explain: -started out as a show off that was rude and actually did real harm -took time to try and get revenge (which backfired) - just kept coming trying getting less and less evil each time - becomes friendly with the main cast the more they returned - is a side character by the end of the series. that (with some changes between materials) is both Diesel and trixie’s character arcs summed up

Hey, great video commenting on those hot takes, but the take on 5:35 that some get too angry over small continuity errors, you're referencing animation errors. Continuity errors are when stuff doesn't make sense in a chronological order (E.g., you learn something in episode 1, but forget this later in episode 5, mostly for the sake of trying to convey a story)

Trixie to me was really kind of an asshole in the beginning and is pretty stubborn throughout the series which made her quite an unlikable character for me the only redeeming quality she really had in my opinion is the fact that she was finally able to become friends with starlight which gave her a bit more development but she still remained a bit stubborn
