I think it's interesting how things like the Flutterponies disappeared in further gens, as did all of their civilisations.

My main issue with the MLP trading cards is that they aren't as artistically focused as I would hope. Yes you have those cards that use contest art but I wish all the mlp trading cards were like that. I mean Hasbro owns wotc, who do mtg, which has plenty of drawn artwork on the cards. It is a bit of a shame that those kind of cards are the exception and not the norm for mlp cards. The Kayou cards are definitely a step up. My previous gripe remains, as Kayou also mainly utilizes official vectors and stills from the show, but they are at least more visually interesting. On top of that, their SCs from more recent sets are beginning to lean more into an artistic focus. The stained glass SCs from their 4th set are definitely my favorites. My hope is they continue leaning into that more! I definitely have a severe need for those cards with fanart in them now...

It makes sense. They said alicorn weren’t typically born they were all “made” which is why Cadance’s and Shining Armor’s child Flurry Heart being born an Alicorn was abnormal. It was foreshadowed from the beginning due to her being Princess Celestia’s student, and her having Spike, who we learned she hatched.

When I saw it, the only thing I didn’t like was that her friends bowed to her when she became an alicorn since it made it seem that they were beneath her now. That was the only detail that really upset me during the whole thing and during the time, I was in high school, so I wasn’t exactly the target demographic. Great video! I actually had never heard of this ARG, before, but as creepypasta and the brony fandom were two of my biggest obsessions during my early teens around that time, this ends up feeling a bit nostalgic regardless! As you mentioned, this is one falls for the most typical ARG cliches, but the cheesiness just adds to the nostalgic charm as a time capsule. You can tell the author was trying to put together something fun and very unique for the time, which makes it very cool that you documented it. It's like immortalizing an ephemeron that may be unremarkable in the grand scheme of things, but is charming to look back on as a curiosity of its time! Definitely love ARGs and would be fascinated to learn more of the ones from the fandom.

For me, the craziest thing is that DeviantArt used to be a popular and reputable site back then. Like, genuine animation industry professionals being active on DeviantArt was the norm, rather than a weird thing.

I get what Lauren was going for but the design changes made the ponies mesh well together definitely. I can really see flutter as an earth pony. In fact it looks more correct to me than her with wings when I compare it. Though pinkie with wings is kinda cursed I can see why she was going with that too, but I absolutely cannot stand the look of it lol. I actually like Twilight Twinkle's design! But ofc we're all biased since we're living in the future where the characters look a certain way. If I made MLP I would be very proud of the chemistry that comes will all the characters designs. The Mane Six definitely do stand out from the rest though and that's partially because their designs and colors go so well together and that's not necessarily true with all of the other ponies and creatures. So I probably would've kept it the same as it is now except pinkie AND fluttershy are both Earth ponies and rainbow js the only Pegasus.
