There were so many frustrating things about that. Saying that Colorado “deserved” to win that is absolutely wild. Maybe 4 counters and three set pieces throughout 90 minutes and scored on two of them. The counters were also just isolated with Omar and sometimes Dave. One of those leading to a serious show of luck from Calvin Harris as well. Literally slipped on the finish to put it past EEJ. Very unfortunate goal to concede. It’s a huge shame Omar’s goal came too late because we just shouldn’t have lost that. Taking bigger advantage of the set pieces would have been nice. Ilic also played unreal for some reason. Nacho should have scored at least one of his chances and MAK put one off the bar. Carles even scraped the bar from the free kick just outside the box. Farrell and Vrioni had pretty good headed opportunities. Even though it seemed like we created nothing, It’s extremely fair to say we should have had more than one. Backline was scattered but mostly because we committed numbers forward. Farrell threw out a pretty poor display. Many misplaced passes and was getting further forward than DJ, why. Caused the counters to be Omar and sometimes Dave against everyone. Just not smart at all. Shifting into a 3 while in attack and giving DJ the freedom to go completely forward would have been so much smarter. MAK had a very good hold on the game, Harkes did at times. Capi had some dry spells too but certainly did enough for us to draw at the very least. Chanc could not get involved at all, partially because we refused to attack down the left side. He shifted inside to create space for DJ but just ignored two of our best assets in attack for some reason. Nacho had a very good showing, unlucky not to score off the corner. The half volley he probably should have put away. Giacs didn’t get much of anything. Could have dropped deeper to get more involved for sure. Esmir was a big spark and looked like the only man willing to take a dribble inside. Noel was solid but not at his top level. Tico just doesn’t look in the right state of mind for first team at the moment. Sloppy touches and needs some confidence. Just a crazy week overall and a much more complete performance than they will get credit for. Still have a lot to improve upon before Chicago though. Need to put chances away and utilize our best abilities to better effect. Can’t dwell on a night like that. Very unlucky and a lot going on, regroup for the last away game of the trip. GO REVS!!!
