Being a Nigerian and a passionate EPL follower and Arsenal lover, I love what the MLS is becoming. It used to be retirement football but it's changing now. I see the packed stadium and I must say hats off to the organizers of the league. I see a lot of Americans being interested in the real football (your soccer) and I am very much impressed and happy too. It's still a long way from NFL (which I have also grown to follow) but it's headed in the right direction.

Those who bash MLS are just bitter and don't know any better. Usually stuck in the past. But this is the MLS of today and moving forward. So much passion and drama. I don't even know what to say. Everyone thought Philadelphia had won it. But Bale showed why Lafc signed him with that insane header and the death. You could see the stadium erupt. Hands down greatest game in MLS history. As an Atlanta United fan congratulations to Lafc, I was at MLS Cup 2018, so I know what their fans are going through. As for Philadelphia, you guys put so much work into this season but fell just short, but there's always next season.

Is it to watch the best possible product, or to watch the most compelling drama? The two are frequently mutually exclusive. There have been 14 MLS Cup champions in the last 16 years. This year's champion didn't exist six years ago. In Europe, every league has a small nucleus of contenders who win every year. How many consecutive BL championships have Bayern won? When was the last time a club NOT named Celtic or Rangers won the Scottish league? (Disclosure: I'm a die hard Celtic fan). The league (MLS) is high scoring. It is dramatic. Impossible comebacks are fairly common. And due to the league and season structure, a mid table, or even lower half side may remain in the championship picture very late in the season. For the record, when following MLS, the best story lines are top and mid table. At the top, they are vying for the Supporters Shield. Anywhere near mid table, they're angling for playoff position for the MLS Cup. Finally, there's a decent incentive for Europeans to follow MLS... We sell you our players by the bushel. hey man i never watch mls but i’m aware of the playoffs, east and west conference all that stuff and I see so many LA fans (seems they played in their stadium ) but why is the final not played in a neutral stadium ?

@@adamziet It used to be neutral in a pre-determined stadium each year. But they changed it in 2013 to be hosted by the team in the final with the best regular season record. That year the Galaxy were already set to host and they made it to the final. The atmosphere was so great compared to previous finals that the league changed it. Honestly, its a great call. The only team GUARANTEED to have home field advantage in the final is the team with the best season record (the champ in most other leagues). But you still have to win two playoff games to get to the final as the #1 seed...

You get paid in us$ and get to live in big modern american city as a multi millionaire Between playing in random mexican or brazil city. Being paid in pesos or reales. Instead of living in Miami Orlando San Diego Los Angeles New York Boston Texas etc. Being paid in us$. Plus a chance to get a usa or canada passport. That was honestly the greatest MLS game I've ever seen. It went back and forth, the crowd was going crazy. I know everyone talks about the Bale goal, but give huge credit to Palacios who almost lost the ball out of bounds, but ran it down and hit it towards net for the Bale goal. That was such an underrated play.
