I think cosplayers are amazing. It's a combination of skills: *Making the costumes and accessories (guns etc.) Which is extremely time consuming and is a skill on its own, especially since maths is normally involved to get high levels of accuracy in your design of costume...and then there's finding the necessary materials which can be hard *Doing the makeup as well as using coloured contact lenses to which a lot of people are scared of doing (like me) *Potentially using Photoshop and learning professional photography *Learning poses *In most cases looking after your body weight through more discipline etc. Especially if you are wanting to be a character who is super skinny etc. *Acting skills when being the actual character I've never cosplayed before and I won't be doing any time soon. Instead I like doing digital art and using clay. But I honestly admire cosplayers. I think it's one of the most creative and skilled arts out there and I can't believe how people can make such amazing costumes. The cosplayers that also wear black contact lenses, which also cover the sclera of the eye, are to be admired too. It can't be comfortable. I remember seeing a cosplayer dressed as Belle, the Disney character. Her hair was perfect and the dress was so spot on. Then a few months later that live action beauty and the beast happened and Disney gave the actress such a shitty and bland dress to wear. There was like zero effort put in compared to the cosplayer I found on the internet...and bare in mind the cosplayer didnt have large amounts of money compared to Disney, an actual massive company. I honestly think the list can be added to on what cosplayers do. But I think anyone that cosplays should know that they're really incredible for doing it.

Anime Expo gets cosplayers that cosplay everything. Video games, superheroes, and actual anime! It's one of the biggest cons in the US so people tend to go all out there doing whatever.
