This is most experienced good fighters - it is a humbling long-grind simple life. The task is never ending and you are not at 100% aggression most of the time; it is long days and monotonous tasks. To enjoy and live like that a part of your mind has to be like a monk. There is a reason Martial arts was practiced largely by spiritual people in its beginnings. The 'loud mouth' and 'angry demon' is usually for gathering crowds, psychology the few weeks prior to the big fights & in the ring. Yup, learning how to fight well gives you the confidence you need to never feel like you need to prove yourself to other people. You know what you can do, and you learn by experience how showing off never amounts to anything other than annoying people. You also learn that things are always more complicated then they seem, so there is always someone that is better than you at something, and in a fight they can always use it agaist you, and that means even top fighters can get punished by lack of humility, so the very best ones are pretty much always humble, as humbleness is what allows you to recognize your flaws and your opponent's strenghts, so you can figure out how to deal with them.

He's not humble in the octagon lol but I get what you mean. I think martial arts humbles you in general. Especially if you've lived your entire life in that environment. If you're consistently taking out the top ranked guys in the world then that could definitely feed your ego and he probably felt like Flash or some superhero in the cage. But before then, while he was learning, he got his ass kicked time after time again and had to learn from people who knew far more than he did. If he was a cocky know-it-all then I doubt he would've been able to find a coach easily

Simeon's perspiration is the perfect example of why ppl should add endurance training in their routines. Barely 6 minutes of light punching and Simeon was already sweating profusely.
