But the thing is that the low blow didn’t bother Alex, so he continued to move forward, then Herb attempted to stop it, Alex caught the kick on the cup, was unbothered/didn’t want to stop the action, so he told Herb it was OK while never taking his eyes off of Hill, then pressed forward and got the left hook. I certainly respect that it adds another integer to the whole situation. But Alex had moved forward before the referee came into halt, so it was nothing dirty on his part. If Hill didn’t like the distance, he could’ve shuffled back too. I get how it creates a corundum, but Alex didn’t do anything dirty, and it is “protect yourself at all times.” I get why it’s not ideal for Hill, but it’s the way that it worked out, and I think it was still fair, even if it wasn’t a typical circumstance.
