@bigvanvader31228 жыл бұрын
+decimated550 Gall has a lot more to lose. Gall has 2 professional fights and has been training in martial arts for most of his life. Punk has only been training for 1 year and a few months. If Gall loses, how will he recover from losing to a pro-wrestler that has never fought a professional fight? The loss will haunt him forever and if he were to get KOd or TKOd, Gall will very likely find himself in those small time local promotions.
@bigvanvader31228 жыл бұрын
furthermore, Punk win or lose will continue to fight in the UFC if he chooses (which he likely will as he has said he has made this his new career.). Punk also has a lot of money. This is Gall's big opportunity to make some real money and a name for himself. It's also the fight that could get him cut, especially if he loses in an embarrassing way.
@hunter1120007 жыл бұрын
regardless of how his fight turned out, it was pretty crazy how confident he was for having only 2 years of training. but still an inspiring journey.

Interesting hearing about his issues weight cutting. He's hesitant to announce his weight because "it isn't going so well", yet doesn't need a nutritionist or help because cutting weight is "common sense". I can't figure out if he's trolling or being serious. Weigh in day will certainly be interesting and his performance could hinge on how well he recovers the next day.
@ManrantsonMRA8 жыл бұрын

@FightTalkMMA8 жыл бұрын
Mariah McKay True. Either way, nutrition isn't really common sense just as weight cutting isn't common sense. In general, eating clean and healthy may be common sense but if he is having issues cutting weight than perhaps hiring a nutritionist to assist him, such as Lockhart, would only serve to benefit him.
@BluesRiffage8 жыл бұрын
The fact that he hasn't even done a practice cut is astounding. You'd think a guy in his position would have every angle covered, given his resources and the time he took to prep for this. He's 37 and this is probably the first time he's ever had to cut weight for anything, and now we learn it isn't going so well. So he essentially has to go to war twice this weekend. He never really had much of a chance, but I'm giving him even less of one now.

Even though CM Punk lost in his debut, you have to give him respect for stepping in the octagon in the first place.
@5IvanDrago58 жыл бұрын
Why? He got paid, it was his job that he choose to do, no one put a gun too his head and forced him to fight. This KZbin community idea that someone is courageous for stepping into a octagon is laughable. It is a fight, thousands of regular people fight every day, at school, in the street, for their jobs, in prisons, in the military. Except many of those fights dont have referees, rules against low blows, and rules banning weapons. They fight in situations wher you cannot simply tap out. There is nothing ordained heroic about simply stepping foot in a octagon. It is a narrative UFC tells you, but in the end it is a regulated fight.
@FatalExistence8 жыл бұрын
yeah i respect him for not paying his dues and jumping straight into a ufc ppv card to be whored off for the sake of money and making a mockery of his own self .

Ivan Drago Respect, "A feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements." I guess you thought he did something heroic which he didn't because yes people fight verbally/physically all the time. I'm just giving him MY respect and believe others should have even the little most of respect for him. For simply starting something he wanted to pursue, ACTUALLY TRAINING and preparing himself besides of people thinking he was just doing it for fame, (people actually thought he was not training which I thought was hilarious). And finally actually going into the situation of a MMA fight.

I'm worried he won't even make it to the cage. I think Punk is underestimating how hard the last few pounds of a weight cut can be and how horribly draining they are, he's still in for a tough road to get to the fight.

Ariel Helwani is probably one of the best interviewers still alive today. Totally engaging and actually passionate about what he is asking. Keep up the good work!

All I've ever wanted was destiny to be fulfilled, it is in my hands, I must not fail, I must not fail. Even through the darkest days, this fire burns, always. this fire burns, always.

It can't be this fire burns because that song is the property of WWE, while cult of personality isn't. He's legally not allowed to use This Fire Burns so no chance unfortunately :(
