It feels as if the entire MMA fandom was/is behind you, Rob!! This was one of the few times that a fighter takes an L and nobody talks shit. You'll usually hear the ignorant remark of "they weren't that good anyway" or something similar from armchair fighters, but not after this fight... Instead, all anyone could talk about was how good Khamzat is, cause everyone (even the casual fans it seems) already KNOW that Rob is world-class. I was very happy to see that acknowledgment from the MMA fandom.

Make it outa 1st set u still got a good chance against khamzat, but that much easier said than done. 1st rnd khamzat is a monster
@muhammadsalafiahlulhadithАй бұрын
@@8301TheJMan3 round khamzat is also dangerous! U forgot how he beat burns?
@8301TheJManАй бұрын
@@muhammadsalafiahlulhadith Yeah but i, as well as plenty of others, thought Burns won both rounds 2 and 3. Not by much, they were certainly close which was why i don't think it was a robbery or anything, but Khamzat was def taking the more damaging shots those two rounds. Especially in round three he was absolutely spent. However, that could also be due to him cutting such a large amount of weight to make 170. However this was also the case when he moved up and fought Usman. While Khamzat did fracture his hand and that certainly played a role, but he was pretty damn gassed-out in 2 nd 3, and that had nothing to do with his hand. Despite taking the fight on a weeks notice, (it might've been 2), Usman was still somehow the much fresher fighter in those two rounds. Im not saying he's easy to beat if you take him beyond one round, cuz he still is dangerous - like you said, based on what we've seen thus far, he has consistently shown a massive drop-off in explosiveness and energy from rounds one to two. Which best demonstrated by the lower amount of power he throws in his strikes, while his boxing defense goes out the window and tends to eat a lot of shots. But also, like i said, getting outa the 1st round is extremely difficult to do in the first place. If you do though, he's significantly less dangerous and you stand a much better shot at beating him.
@muhammadsalafiahlulhadithАй бұрын
@8301TheJMan Lol keep coping burns lost fair and square lol even the last round burns was backing away from khamzat and looking at the clock afraid and landing haymakers... khamzat was the aggressor and didnt look fazed at all and burns left in a stretcher to get stitches! Khamzat didnt!
@8301TheJManАй бұрын
@@muhammadsalafiahlulhadith How am i coping? I said it was a close fight which i scored for Burns, as did plenty of other people. It was so close that i wasn't opposed to either guy getting the nod, and certainly didn't consider it a robbery or anything. And yes he wasn't "fazed", but that had mostly to do with him being gassed, and proceeded to eat the biggest strikes of those two rounds with little boxing defense. The point that i was making was that Khamzat has in the few fights that have gone beyond the first round - tends to gas out a bit, and though he's still dangerous - he's nowhere near the monster he is the the first round. Which was why i said if you survive round one with him, you stand a decent chance of actually beating him. If he can improve his stamina though, Khamzat will be nearly unbeatable at MW.

@IAMTHEPAPI3Ай бұрын
Yeah he's a gentleman. That's why he lost to the guy who was an absolute Savage and the opposite of gentle. If you're going to have any chance against Khamzat Chimaev, You have to have the same explosion in the beginning just like he does. Before that bell sounds you have to let him know it's f****** coming. You have to let him know. Because I've noticed as soon as that Bell rings these guys are finished the fight is already over and he hasn't even touched the person yet. That's why I was so interested in him fighting Nate Diaz because naked weather that storm 100% and you're not submitting Nate Diaz. You might get caught in an arm bar or a triangle on the way down acting all aggressive like that.. Khamzat still has not faced anyone who can challenge him on the ground and I thought Nate Diaz was that guy. I'm not saying that Diaz would have won I'm saying that don't count him out. Don't think that Nate can't wear this guy out for three rounds in a row and then make him quit in the 4th or 5th. Nate will take a beating for 3 rounds and then just take the fight. Anyone who can beat this guy from chechnya is going to have to explode in the first just like he does. If you don't you're done. He doesn't give nobody respect. He gave Gilbert Burns respect that's it. and the only reason he gave Gilbert respect is because Gilbert sat him down and knocked him down and punched his face until he fell down.

@JMW824_Ай бұрын
Not hating on this comment at all but imo I still consider Usman to be his toughest test. Rob is one of the greats but I wouldn’t put his skill set as a tougher one compared to Usman. You are gonna need legit wrestling and grappling chops to make Khamzat strike more vs if he knows you can’t resist his wrestling pressure you in his backyard pretty much.

I've always had a current favourite MMA fighter . It's bounced from Anderson Silva to Nick Diaz to Johnny Hendricks to Tony Ferguson to Colby Covington. Along side all those picks , ( apart from Anderson Silva who goes a bit far back ) and who always gets a mention is Robert Whittaker. By staying true to the courage of his convictions both inside and outside the octagon while both soaring through the dizzy heights of victory or trudging along side a low of defeat , ( and I can tell he really suffers during these rare sorties ) Rob's been able to not just survive but positively thrive in this highly competitive shark infested global combat competition that is the UFC. Look at how Rob has carried himself compared to Connor " fancy a foukin nosh " McNuggets who appeared to many to have it all. Robert Whittaker is a class act ..... an absolute Warrior.
