Alright. He looks primed for double leg or a fireman carry. I don’t think the distance covered by the roll stops a take down attempt unless the head kick rocked him. Technically it looks clean and seems good, but I’d be expecting to get speared right after.

@F X Dream big my guy but remember you're up against guys that have been in combat sports since they were 10 or younger. Not to say you couldn't have the natural talent to be successful but you won't be ready for an amateur fight for a long while. When your coach feels you are ready they will organise a bout for you. I was wearing headgear for my first fight and I still got my lights switched off. Happy hunting!

I've seen players of Wushu doing this Mawashi geri perfectly...To an extent that they knockout their opponent with this kick. Their Mawashi geri is extremely tough and accurate without any chances of falling.

Awesome. I love the way you set up that high kick! I will have to try this in sparring next time. Also, I giggled a bit at the leg grab after almost literally eating your kick. It’s one of the issues with timing sparring; you get guys that think they can just eat the shot and not suffer damage. In this case, eat the shot and not be decapitated 🤣. Love the work. Keep it up!

I can't kick that high without leaning over, either, but I don't really feel a need to. I just go for the legs or ribs. But then again I only practice against a heavy bag so my skill level is very low.

I love this high kick set up! It works amazingly well and it usually makes them lean into the kick I call it the rainbow kick, I got the name from Gabriel Varga.

We don't have a proper foundation here in a small Indian town, we train on cement cricket pitch on the corner of a field cause rest of the ground is pretty uneven and dirty. So, we can't roll even if we want to. We also can't practice grappling due to that. There's no point asking people for help in funding to build a stage or somewhat club cause no else in the town is interested in this except 2 or 3 of us.

I’ve had this problem. Which naturally made me lean more towards a preference for a mostly boxing heavy style of striking. But this interesting way of getting my leg up there for the high kick. I’ll have to try it out 🤔

Nothing I can do since my tendons are short so I got this issue.. what I do is pivot and stand on almost my tippy toes and that gives me extra height to go higher than normal I can land a kick on the jaw line above that starts becoming a pain for me lol but with the pivot of the foot and standing on it arched I can nail the top of the head! Would definitely try footwork also with kicks helps tremendously

Good thing I have a very long reach usually don't need to worry about high kicks at all.. Kind of like Israel Adesanya who has pretty long reach and always leans back out of range and is hard to catch with those with his footwork and movement... definitely wouldn't recommend everyone to fight that tho need to know what you're doing

your mistaken the point of the video. he was only able to catch the kick because I pulled/held back the high kick and because I dont have the flexibility to hold my leg up, I rolled out instead of hurting my thighs. If I kicked through, he would not be able to catch like that

I've seen this exact scenario in a ONE Championship fight! But this video was more for fun/as a joke. Your opponent should not be able to catch a high kick like that. He was only able to because I pulled my kick back and kept it up there so I didn't hurt him. I had to roll because I didn't have the flexibility to keep it up there

Wouldn't reccomend posting while you fall like that, could hurt yourself, best to just fall over your shoulder and roll out that way, plus even if it does work without injury it's a little slow, anyone halfway decent on the ground would swarm on you for that

this is sparring lol. your partner would be an asshole if he tried to swarm you after you held your kick back for them. your partner would not be be able to catch your high kick like that if you didn't pull back on it

@@MMAShredded I'm talking about in an actual competition, even in sparring though I don't like how you post onto your arm when you're falling, you could seriously sprain your wrist or bend your elbow backwards... I'm more of into the practical clear cut techniques, in an actual fight someone would for sure jump on your back or get a hold of your hips or a leg and take you to the mat and pound you out, no offense not trying to sound offensive or undermine your techniques I think you move really well on the feet great distance control, just that post and roll doesn't seem feasible in my opinion
