MOUSEKETEER LONNIE here, 09/23/2021 Hoping to clean up history, for many "Mice" and other folksdo not remember everything all that well. Of the 6 original Mouseketeers on this THIRD version of the "Mickey Mouse Club" in the NINETES*, the second in the 70's not lasting long, two were not part of the NINE* who lasted the entire filming of the series. Sherry, the only 1 of 39 kids who lisped did Season two only, then was booted from the show, not just "Talent Roundup" friday. The late Don Grady, who was a swell friend and a real PRO in all areas even before "My Three Sons" on TV and as a composer, conductor, singer and musician, was on the last season only. I was on ALL the years we shot the MMc and was EXCLUDED here with NO explanation from anyone related the 'family oriened' Disney family. There are 14 original "Mice", as we call ourselves, who are deceased. However, Tommy is still trying to learn how to dance, which got him fired after Season one, but took dance classes many days a week and was rehired for season #2; it is STILL always fun to watch Tom try to dance. Most do not know our 50's series reran in the USA in the 60's, 70's giving birth to the #2 version; 80's, and 90's into this century even though the third version of the show started in the 90's our original black and white films ran late at night and had to be taped for our young audience. *The 9: Sharon, Darlene, the late Annette [Annie, my girlfriend for the entire first season], Doreen and "Meesketeer" Karen; ME, Cubby, Tom & Bobby. The late Cheryl was on the last two years and is highly thought of and joined the 9 at later appearances as an adult. Now it's time to say goodbye to all our company, Mr. Lonnie Burr - married to Diane for 50+years and an extremely spry 78!

You starred in an episode with my cousin. Do you recall anything about an African American Talent Round Up guest, Cheryl Weinberg? A link to your scenes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKSYgX-viKirgpY

Thanks for sharing! I just watched the 25th anniversary reunion and it was amazing to see how great you all still were together after so many years. Definitely a shame you weren’t included in this one, too!

I completely agree!! they NEED a retro Disney channel!!! and MTV
@christineadams12848 жыл бұрын
I agree also. I would love to see Disney old shows and cartoons. And reruns of MTV would be FANTASTIC, I would watch it for sure. Oh the memories of the beginning days of MTV, we would race home from school to watch the videos and the VJ's were great.

Hope they do something like that with Disney Plus!

Here from the future lol. I was lucky enough to be a kid around the time right before Disney turned to crap (early 2010s). All the kids complained about Disney not showing older shows as time went on. I feel like Disney knew viewers the wanted it, they were just developing Disney Plus the entire time 😅

This was mouskegreat. I think it would've been mousekebetter if they also had the 70's cast as well and we get to see all three generations of mouseketeers together.

I am convinced Fred is a vampire . He hosted "Livewire" on Nickelodeon in the early 1980s. He didn't age a bit in at least 10 years .

I feel confident Lindsey Alley and Annette Funicello must have really gotten along well when this was taped (and it seems fitting that a few years later; after Annette went public with her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, Lindsey did an interview with Annette)

Love it..... but always felt a bit bad that they basically act like the 1977 edition never happened. Apparently Disney nearly never acknowledges them, leading them to self nickname, "The Forgotten Mice"
@allenjones3130 Жыл бұрын
I agree that it's shameful that Disney has chosen to ignore the 1977 "New Mickey Mouse Club" and the 70s Mouseketeers as if they had never existed.

We've already got a retro Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, now we just need a retro Disney Channel and PBS. Maybe even a retro MTV. (Trust me, that's not pushing it.)
