Ok there's actually more to that first clip. There were 3 reasons fans were mad at that finish: - The fans were primarily mad at NASCAR disregarding their own red flag rule to try to ensure a green flag finish - Dale Jr. was the only to challenge for the win & literally no one else did anything, so mad no one else tried to make a move - A *lot* of other fans were mad at the fact that Michael Waltrip wrecked & injured another driver during that race & seemingly got away with it

They might've had enough light to satisfy the drivers, but I can guarantee you there were some sponsors that weren't happy with the relative lack of TV exposure on that part of the track.

11:13 Money Shot, right there. Maybe NASCAR should consider dimming the lights a little bit during night races. As long as the drivers can still see, it should be okay to race.

During reddicks flip idk if anyone noticed but if chase had the same speed as reddick going into the infield he could’ve flipped as well. His car almost did the same thing going into the air and tilting to the right. He just didn’t go over since he scrubbed off more speed

Smith fielded 5 trucks, some with inexperienced drivers, to give his main truck a better shot at the title. When one of those trucks is not competitive and wrecks the championship leader, I think that guy has a right to be mad!

What I don't understand is that why are Dale Jr. fans mad when it was Dale Jr. teammate that won the freaking race!?!
@JakeP201316 күн бұрын
I always thought the fans were upset because the race ended under caution, the "jr fans mad" angle seems like a bit of a stretch. Mikey was pretty popular at the time.
@reidcraig373916 күн бұрын
@ my guess as to why he said Jr. nation is because the way the fans acted in Daytona is very similar to how the fans acted after the 2004 spring Talladega race. Also I do feel bad that Mikey never got to celebrate a win at Daytona without something bizarre from happening. 2001 Daytona 500: Dale Sr fatal crash 2002 Pepsi 400: The fans on the backstretch 2003 Daytona 500: Rain shortened, shortest Daytona 500 in history
@JGR4LIFE2015 күн бұрын
The fans was spoiled from the year before. It was dangerous not being a Dale Jr fan in the early 2000s.

lets be real here. NASCAR should just go to a modified GT3 package similar to Garage 56 from LeMans and just race at night with headlights.
