Love the II. Just a thought - The car was already old when it was 10 years old. Then it ran until it was 22 years old. After another 23 years of sitting, you drive it at 3500 RPM for a couple hundred miles on the highway. All I have to say is: You are a brave man. I have to see more of this. Subscribed!

I've watched your channel and junkyarddigs as well one thing yall can make up is a chain breaker like get a bar weld a long heavy duty chain to and a way you can tighten the chain in place after wrapping it around the crank instead of having to struggle with a breaker bar would making breaking engines free alittle more easier. Keep up the great work, yall. I've learned a lot about classics, which I'm obsessed with kinda my hobby on my days off.

Thanks for creating this content it gives me the ambition to complete the second half of my own similar will-it-run video... I pulled my own white 1978 Sunbird Formula, out of its 10-year corner barn parking spot, and V8 swapped a nearly identical formula Sunbird that I couldn't save. Its amazing how many similarities their are with the Fomoco IIs and the GM H body cars.

That's a cool car, Dalton. Back in about 1982, the Ford dealer took a red King Cobra in on trade. It looked like it just came off the showroom floor, extremely nice. It had t-tops and a 4 speed. I got to drive it for a while and had a lot of fun in it. Good times.

It was well worth waiting for this video. Resurrecting such a cool, iconic car is a good thing in anybody's book. The Mustang II never got much love, but the King Cobra was awesome. It is a shame so few were made (under 4000, if memory serves), but it also makes them a bit more special. There was a blue with red accents, one in my old neighborhood that always got my attention as a kid when I saw it. My Mom had a 79 Fox Body Cobra with the 2.3 Turbo. It was a bit of a gutless, damp squid, but it looked cool and had a TURBO. It spooled up nicely, and my Dad added water injection to control its propensity to ping on boost. It only ever drank Gasohol from a local Mohawk fuel station, which made it much better than regular pump fuel. I am really looking forward to the next installment of your King Cobra. Are you just going to paint, or will it be treated to a complete decal kit? The white and Blue look spectacular. Well done Jesse and JD for all their input too. You all seem very much in sync, and it makes for great content. Best, Neil :-)

Looks like you left off the “Pinto go Boom! Shield when you put the new gas tank in the Mustang Cobra. Now your no longer NHTSA recall compliant. (The KA-Boom shield is that shield that went between the gas tank and rear differential.) Keeps the rear differential from punching a hole in the tank and sparking a fire of passion erupting with an encounter between the Mustang and an old Ford Probe.

Haven't watched it yet, just saw the notification (Since I find notifications loathsome and disable them on my phone for everything except texts and calls), but I already know this is gonna be a good one. The hell you and other youtubers reviving cars like these go through keeps me going working on my old garbage. Keep up the great work, all of you, JD and Jess included. Videos like these keep me motivated even though I can be a bit of an idiot at times and forget the simplest things like how I did a dumb and forgot that the water pump runs off the power steering, and not the alternator, and my truck ain't got no power steering (I didn't forget it didn't have power steering, that's intentional, and factory, I want a 1 belt simple as hell V8 4 speed rat rod truck). There aren't many junkyards around with old American iron that I can access on a whim, or access at all, sooooo, I had to spend money on gaudy pulleys on a greaseball engine, that's always fun. I'm gonna try and see if I can make it run off a Chevy style 3 wire alternator converted to a 1 wire or just get my Mopar alternator converted to 1 wire. Oh yeah and my 318 had the heavy duty alternator, which is the big SOB with two pulleys, so that's fun.

What an awesome car, and a true family affair. Everyone pitched in and I don't know how you do it, Dalton having a full time job and then come home just to work more. Good thing you're young !

Great video as usual. Hilarious and entertaining as always and its nice to see that Mustang II back on the road. It is pretty clean and definitely deserves some paint work and brought back to its former glory. I have always liked these cars and i think they get way too much hate imo especially nowadays.

It’s gonna need a lot of work and a motor rebuild before it ever needs paint. Lipstick on a pig , remember that saying 😂😂

Had a 76!! They were bad about the hatchbacks rusting out unless it was in a garage or carport! Mine looked like the "Charlie's Angels" blue stripes, on mine, had louvers on the rear side windows also!😲

Glad to see you save this Cobra 2! My brother had one when he was 19 and I was 14 and I always wanted it. He wound up selling it to a guy that made it into a racecar. They were ahead of their time as far as looks go IMO.
