Why would they regret it? Most of the time Miku is just a drawing attached to a box so its not like they have to animate her. In Project Diva they can change her appearance as they see fit and make her hair less difficult to deal with. If Crypton ever made an anime for Miku, it's not like there hasnt been long haired anime characters before.

Both aren't really that realistic if you think about it, on the left side the hair is too stiff and bouncy for how much miku's pigtails would normally weigh and the on the right side the hair is too flingy. I think it just doesn't matter all that much if the hair has realistic physics or not. I mean miku is a fictional character. It all just boils down to how appealing it seems to the eye.

Project diva music videos are not really "music videos" they are just motion captures. You can change the models so there's no detailed hair physics. MMD physics however are edited according to a single model so they can be far more realistic. I hope this clears things up.
