Not gonna lie, I am honestly happy seeing Godzilla portrayed as he was always meant to be - in my eyes anyway - in more recent times. From Shin, to Minus One, and now this? It's like Godzilla is re-entering his more horrific, terrifying side these days, and I'm all for it. The sheer hopelessness of facing him, his indomitable presence, and utterly horrific power is something that should really be explored more often, because he really fits the bill to the letter when he's shown as that.

I feel the abandoned Crystal Godzilla plus Yasushi Nirasawa's Millennium and Final Wars Godzilla designs, along with Kentaro Miura's Berserk played a role in designing this original Big G. The only lament I have that it was over too soon. The intended Giant God Warrior Appears over Tokyo and Hideaki Anno/ Shinji Higuchi references (based on Kihachi Okamoto and Akio Jissoji, and others) are also again a good idea.
