Hello Sir. One question Can I answer calls from the Steering Wheel Call button when I am connected to the CarPlay Wirelessly? I have read elsewhere that many have that issue that they cannot answer a call from the Steering Wheel? Thanks in advance

Yes you can… I did it all the time. The one thing you have to do is disconnect Bluetooth connection to the Idrive and only connect to the CarPlay module.

Thinking about investing in one of these. Have one question though, when you turn the car back on. What menu do you see? In other words, do you have to keep holding the menu button down to switch to Apple carplay /android Auto every time you turn the car on?

It goes back to the last screen that was on. It is pretty smart

I see that the unit comes with its own USB port. Does installing the unit disable the OEM USB port inside the armrest glove compartment?

No it does not… these just feeds the aftermarket box

For bmw530gt there is no room behind the head unit for the large connector and the wires are too short to put it anywhere else. Any suggestions?

After you do this are you still able to access the idrive that tells you the cars info? Like oil level, brake fluid, tire pressure etc?

Yes you can hit the BMW app on the Home Screen or hold down the menu button

Hi, do you miss a touchscreen sometimes? For example, for entering a navigation address? I want to bring CarPlay to my F11 but I am wondering if I should get a unit with touchscreen of if such a unit you have is enough.

Because I have a BMW with touchscreen carplay, sometimes I touch this screen as I forget. It is not that big of a deal for me tho. Just takes some time to adjust.

Does the clock work in your car after this install? I saw it wasn't working at the end of the video and mine also does not work after this install. I made sure to transfer the fiber optic cable which seems to be the mistake that most people amke but my clock still does not work.

You just have to reset the time in the main BMW menu. Once you do that all is good. This happens every time you unplug the battery

I want to see remote engine start coding on a G20 M340i & not Bimmertech trying to rip us for selling us a retrofit for that same car for more then what BMW sells it for on their app with keeping both key fobs !!!!

Hummm I know the newer BMWs can pay for remote start but if you have one before they started offering it I wonder if you can do it.
