wow! fascinating....and nice music. looks so easy but surely will take years of practice to be able to do this. can you make any kind of plate or bowl? i have a lovely design in mind.
@RyanXcasting10 жыл бұрын
the basic components of her design are elementary. the concept is absolutely striking and her execution is marvelous and quite masterful. the diameters, wall thicknesses, and wall-angles have to be just-so. Who knows how much clay she had to throw back in the bucket before she got to this point. But what makes this really special - what makes a potter not able to sleep at night - is that anyone with the ability to throw on the wheel could attempt this. Isn't that mind-blowing!?

Make one of these in ceramics today! It's way smaller and only has four layers, but it's not nearly as hard to make as I thought it would be!

Fantastic! Just wondering: How long do you let the pieces dry before you assemble them and create the wave? I noticed you wet the rims, but I'm guessing they weren't at the leather-hard stage yet?

How did she trim it if the clay was so soft???
@KraZxaZn9 жыл бұрын
+airotciv nayr Most likely because she was making multiples of this piece. So therefore the one she made from the beginning of the video was made to dry and the one she trimmed was one that was previously made and dried.
@shirinf3338 жыл бұрын
She trimmed it a different day, by the looks of the stiffness probably the next day. Just enough to become soft leather hard to trim the bottoms, rehydrate with water to become plastic, and alter the shape. She's wearing different clothes, if you look closely she has a white logo on her shirt when she's throwing and there's no logo on her shirt when she's trimming.
