I'd love to see "neutral" outfits for a deep winter colouring or someone that suits silver better than gold. I love the outfits on you but they wouldn't work with my colouring at all! x

I'm with you on this! I just cannot wear yellow gold, it looks terrible on me! All my jewellery is silver/white gold/platinum/stainless steel. Don't get me started on belt/shoe/bag manufacturers who default to gold hardware 95% of the time!!! 😠

I’m also a winter colouring and find that navy and a bright white are my best neutrals but I skip all the lovely beiges and brown unless it’s shoes and accessories. In the end I still have bright colours in my summer wardrobe as they suit me best but I try to just pick 1-2 (green and denim-mid blue) and then I apply the same guidance of having several green items that I can mix and match with etc.

Same here. It would be lovely to have a winter type as second "model" so we could see booth warm and cool neutrals. I am wearing a lot of bright whites and grays, as well as champagne or light blues. No gold at all, doesn't work for me either. Besides, thank you so much for all the time you put in your youtube audience!

Same here 😊 no gold, only silver. I usually have off white, marine blue and gray as main colours as cream / beige / brown do not go well. I love electric blue and fuchsia (bright pink). I love tan/cognac for bags and shoes. I think we could wear beige but more as bottom or a layer provided we have a bright white next to our face. (I also avoid pastels like the plague 😂 except when it’s a blue shirt).

But now… still tall 5’7” 😂, but have lost my waist. You and your team have helped me sort through my clothes for what works best for my current shape. OMG!!! I’m a new subscriber and was watching some earlier videos when I came upon this one. I have a pair of white jeans I’ve had all summer, but never have worn as I couldn’t figure out the right shoe to wear…and I consider myself pretty fashion savvy..I just cut them off like you mentioned and they are now perfect!!! Another great video Melissa. The tonal scheme works beautifully but the dark creams, browns or camels are colours I find hard to wear wear. The striped shirt would work beautifully so as I’m cool toned I assume I could switch out the browns for navy accessories or nude? I’d love to see a similar video showing how differing skin tones could adapt a capsule wardrobe. Thanks as always. ❤

You’re best watching one of the 18 body shape masterclasses on here where I dress women of all different shapes and sizes live on the channel as this will show you how I use neutrals on all of them, regardless of their colourings. It’s more about where you use them and in particular how close to the face you’re wearing them. We have a colour specific course coming out of that’s if any interest.

Hi Melissa Thanks for the video-Really lovely as always. Can I ask if there is a footwear brand or a few footwear brands you like please in terms of the following… I do not have any foot issues but when I wear ultra flat sandals such as the tan ones you show that offer no support it goes into my back and gives me back ache and shin splints and I just really struggle. Do you know of any brands that you would recommend for tan sandals but with more support please. Thank you Joanne

The tips for pants length are the best ever! I struggle with this. But, Melissa, I was kinda thinking that when you paired the jeans with the Birkenstocks, that your jean length was a little bit in "no man's land", based upon your own recommendations.

That’s because of the straps on the Birkenstocks which reduces the amount of foot/ankle skin on show. It’s really hard to mock it all up correctly and it’s only when you start editing afterwards that certain things display the point better than others!

I’m an 18 in trousers and 32” in length. Can you help? I’d love a silk shirt or vest top but I’m 24/26 on top half. You’re not too dissimilar from myself, I have a uk size 4 wide foot, I’m 5ft 3 (and a bit) so copy the styling principles that you see me wearing and the same format should work on yourself (adjust obviously for your lifestyle).

As a Chinese woman, I would love if you chose a model similar to me. Ideally a fair skin woman, as opposed to someone like Michelle Yeoh whose skin color is slightly tan. Think about the korean singers that are currently super popular. I mention this because I have tried some beige, cream tops but feel like they completely wash me out. I’m happy to dress anyone from any background, any height, any size but unfortunately I live in a relatively remote area of the countryside with zero diversity and I’ve put adverts out for models of all different shapes and sizes and can only use who applies.

Lily Silk are blasting all the Influencer’s the last few days. Unfortunately most of us could never afford to buy from this brand lovely as the Clothes are. Unrealistic from most that watch UTube, really annoying. Cashmere Jumpers and Silk Trousers are unrealistic for your average Women.

I do understand what you’re saying but the reason we show them is that they’re one of the most brought items from my site meaning that my customers are happy to pay their prices. I get more people buying from places like Monica vinader, Lilysilk and Me&Em than I do H&M, mango and Amazon. So I try and mix it up so the channel satisfies everyone. It’s very hard to keep such a wide and diverse audience satisfied and do remember that this is free content for you so please feel free not to watch if the items aren’t right for you x
