Dr. Saad Usmani, Chief of Myeloma Service at MSK, reflects on how far we’ve come in the past 25 years including our evolution into the era of immunotherapies. He is a longtime and active partner to the MMRF, serving as faculty for our patient education programs and steering committee member for the Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium. Dr. Usmani regularly participates in our #TeamforCures events, even running the Boston Marathon with one of his patients to show his support for the organization. And in his #25Voices piece he shares how that journey was truly symbolic of the patient-doctor relationship. Dr. Usmani credits the MMRF for its holistic approach to driving progress in the space, from supporting trials to advancing our understanding of the disease biology, and feels the community has now entered a new phase of realizing cures. #25Voices #MMRF25
