Paladins are utter trash in most solo pvp situations, if it is assumed that the opponent is competent. Doesn’t matter who plays the paladin. No snares, no natural gap closer but instead must use engi/stun/repentance, and if used is left with no kicks unless they sealtwist around judgement of justice, they also have no resets, and lastly they are balanced around a very, very long cd. These are facts. The only time you will see paladins shine, are against opponents that plays into the paladins strength, which is simply tank and spank. They’re strong because they can freedom, bop, off-heal and cleanse their pockethealer, which is the only reason you will see a 2k+ player partnering up with a pala.

Jacob: Back in retail, before TBC was fully patched in, you could actually play a modified version of vanilla and queue into arena matches (modified talent trees but no raised level cap, no gems and no Outland) Wout: Well, Monkey is not being cautious as much as he is simply playing the game as it correctly should be played against a paladin, when one is a warrior. You'll see warriors do the exact same thing in TBC, as the meta between warrior and paladin match-ups didn't undergo significant change. Paladins have a relatively long CD on their freedom, so once the warrior burns thru it, all he needs to worry about is trinketing the stun and sitting the incap (repentance) OOC > charge > dot+snare > kite > OOC The above strat when applied looks like the warrior is being cautious, but in reality the warrior is just being clever and respecting the game mechanics. The dance is kind of similar in warrior vs frost mage, as there is really only one or two ways to beat a competent opponent as a warrior, and that is playing heavily on OOC mechanics, deadzones and intercepts. edit: tl:dr version: monkey had no choice in the matter if he wanted to win that fight, as such the term "cautious" becomes perfectly interchangeable with "smart"

the palladin fight was an eye candy. wish that dude used some more interesting ideas than just a granade. The rest opponents acted like noobs especially the horde druid who almost killed ya but decided to play dumb in the end of the fight. ;) Any way fun stuff as always (love them warriors - the unstoppable killing machines when ruled by the Skillful) but i'd really wish you'd find and show us ppl who really liked and knew how to pvp. Btw was this filmed on Kronos, the One and Only (lol)? Played there for a while till Nost got finaly ressurected. Melee dps'ers said they felt pretty awesome there for i dont know what and why , like raiding and doing top damage w/o hit cap. Sorry for my english.
